I agree with you in part. But I plan to use the term to describe those who put the ppeople who are our public servants, Tom Ridge in particular is the one we were discussing, in impossible dilemmas. Tom Ridge is damned if he does and if he doesn't, belittled, called names because he is not doing the agenda of certain people whether that is a good thing or not. He and his shop are treated by some like they are maliciously destroying our constitution. I call that deconstructionism. We are trying to survive a terrible war, certain things need to be done to fight that war at this time, to bitch and moan and personalize those things when so far noone I know can name a way Patriot Act has affected them is pure deconstructionism. They , people like some on this thread, would put their personal preferences and their interpretation of their liberty above the safety of all of us. I disagree with them and see them as just tearing down, not attempting to build. We have no one but our government lookiing out for us right now,,,we owe them some support and loyalty. When a fight is on, it is not a good idea to carp, bitch and sow distrust of our leaders,,,unless of course you are a deconstructionist. So we disagree.

Other countries never had sky marshalls on their flights....some do..... some don't.....this measure will make the bad guys rethink taking over a plane.

Ridge: It was thought to be smarter to go national with the alert rather than target specific law enforcement agencies.

I think the Marshals should be armed with those special weapons that can read the fingerprint (fail-safe) of the user-only.

Those "safe technologies" are only for us peasants.

Although it probably would have been a good idea for the Marshall who fell asleep on his flight.

It wouldn't have helped the Marshall who had an ND with his weapon in the hotel room he was staying.

And, yes, both of these events were reported by USA Today. No tinfoil here.

After reading all of your responses so far, Meg who is new, comes off looking a lot brighter than you have.

Orwell would agree.

Q. Was there specific developments that prompted new amendments?

A. No, this just came from conversations with other nations today. (Hmmmmmm.)

Very good post in your #321, cajungirl. And you have nailed exactly the problem with a job like Ridge's.

That's nice, but when it comes down to it, isn't martyrdom enough? I mean, ultimately, these guys want their virgins and date trees. Do they really care if they get taken down before they can get into the cockpit? Isn't that martyrdom anyhow? I don't think this will "scare" a terrorist, although it will definitely make people feel more confident that it will be much harder to make it into the cockpit..

OXEN...I guess he could respond with: "As with any frangible bullet, crimp can be a problem and modern frangibles feature a small crimp groove along with a warning to use only a modest taper crimp. Over-crimping can actually fracture the bullets."

just kidding

What ideas? He's opposed to Ridge, Homeland Security, and the Patriot act. Those aren't constructive reasonable ideas. They are a list of things he's opposed to.

It looks to me like he suggested securing our borders. He also commented that he carries a gun most of the time, which earned him ridicule from other posters on this thread.

Those sound like ideas up for debate to me...

I agree as well. More people are becoming aware of the threats through the mainstream media. (A few weeks ago some of my best friends laughed when I mentioned the terror threats. Now many are tuning in and trying to determine what is going on. )

I'd like to know if we've been able to track down the Libyan bioweapons.

It's your choice, sit at home OR actually get out and help defend America.

How YOU can assist fighting terrorist cells in the United Sates.
