WASHINGTON, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- It was the eighth assassination attempt on President Pervez Musharraf since he seized power in Pakistan in October 1999 -- and the second in 11 days.

By his own reckoning, an estimated 1 percent of Pakistan's 150 million people are extremists, which is local patois for Islamist fanatics who would love to see Musharraf dead and the country in chaos.

Can anyone tell me why the U.S. is still buying oil from Saudi Arabia?

NEGOCIATION and peaceful patriotism will put world markets and your assets in the toilet. Bush should be commended for going after insects all over the world, and in the Democratic Party of Clintons.

"Bush needs to start making the case to the americans people for premptive use of nuclear weapons against military targets, like the pakistani nuclear weapons plants, depots, and military infrastructure."

What is the advantage of using nukes against such targets as opposed to conventional weapons such as stealth bombers?

"Expect Cheney to get a MD dis-qualification and Condi for VP. Then expect Condi and someone else for 2008."

Never happen. Condaleeza Rice is PRO-ABORTION and PRO-RACIAL QUOTAS and she's never held elective office in her life. I wouldn't even want a liberal like her in congress.

GRabbing their nukes (not really sure how we could) is the only option. We can't nuke em without declaring all out war onI slam.

"Rudy for POTUS and Condi for VP"

Not really true. There are Mossie Arabs, Christian Arabs. THere are also Mossies who have brown skin, white (Irani, Azeri, Bosnian, Turk), yellow (chinese, s. e asian) etc. There are NO distingusihing factors -- they could very well be your neighbours.

I've read recently that Condi won't be back in as NSA though. So it will be interesting to see what she does when she steps down (assuming she does).

Assuming Powell goes as planned I would think that Condi will be the new Secretary of State. Hopefullly Bush will give her the OK to clean house Rumsfeld style and get the State Department back on the team. They've been gone a long time.

I intentionally low balled the number to make a point...surely you understood that. Even the smallest % is a danger.

the facility is likely inside a mountain, conventional weapons won't do anything.

might be hard to do, you would need someone so deep on the inside to detonate one of them intentionally and make it look like an accident, and it would likely be a suicide mission, I doubt we could pull anything like that off.

Because we can't drill for new oil in Alaska, Coastal California, Gulf coast, Oklahoma, Texas, etc.
We can't build nuke plants
We can't build large scale accellerators
No research money for Fusion power

Those are my reasons, I'm sure there are more

Thanks. I think you summed up the problem nicely.

Had I been the King of America on 9/12/2001, I would have decreed that all regulations restricting the drilling for, distribution, and refining of petroleum were hereby rescinded.

I wasn't thinking of smuggling. More like falling out of the weapons bay of a B-2.

For this militant minority, Osama bin Laden, the world's most wanted terrorist, is the second most popular man after the Prophet himself. Out of the ashes, they believe a nuclear-tipped Islamist phantasmagoria would rise to merge with a post-monarchy Saudi Arabia. Oil plus nukes is the vision the crazies share to level the playing field with the world's only superpower.

Craig Winn was a guest on Davis Gold's show yesterday (KSFO 560 am in San Francisco). He made the point that the war in Afghanistan pushed the most exteme Islamists into Pakistan. If they succeed in assassinating Mushariff, they will have nukes. Not a comforting prospect.

If you go HERE to David Gold's website, scroll down a bit to the Dec. 26th post, you'll see a link to "Tea with Terrorists", a book by Craig Winn.

I am familiar with Craig Winn...... Heard him on Art Bell twice. The first time it was eye opening. He just laid it all out.

His latest book, free download. Expose of Islam and Muhammed's life--->>>
