THE PERSECUTION OF RUSH GOES ON MARK A SITY 12/26/03

Years ago, Brett Favre had a problem with pain killers. He was buying them illegally after a prescription ran out for after an injury that still hurt. He became addicted. After the news came out, he apologized to his fans, went into treatment, and all was right with the world. Not a soul seems to be interested in investigating Ozzy Osbourne’s drug use, but there might be a reason for this. Ozzy seems to be attempting to prove the theory of evolution by devolving into lower forms of life before our eyes. Ozzie is an interesting scientific experiment.

Yet, Rush Limbaugh is reported to have a problem with an addiction to pain killers, admits it and goes into treatment, and all is still not right with the world. Rumors are reported first that he’s part of a drug ring investigation. Ok, it seems this is true in that his name turned up as a customer. Then rumors were reported that he was buying these prescription pain killers in 1000+ lots. Then rumors were reported that he was involved in selling the drugs (like he really needs the money!). Then it was money laundering. Now he is under investigation for the very serious crime of “DOCTOR SHOPPING”. It seems this is a huge crime in Florida.

This makes me wonder. If I take my family to Florida for a vacation, and our daughter hurts herself, let’s say she hurts her leg. Being from Wisconsin we wouldn’t know who the good FL doctors are and who the quacks are. We’d probably take her to the closest doctor. So let’s say we get Dr Quack. Dr Quack takes her into the X-ray room, and comes out with an X ray showing a hairline fracture in her calf bone. We would assume a leg cast is in order. Dr Quack comes back with not the plaster cart, but a laughing gas cart and then pulls out a big meat saw. Dr Quack tells us he will have to amputate her leg for the hairline fracture. If we decide to take her out of the office (with both legs attached) and look for a second opinion are we in violation of FL law for “DOCTOR SHOPPING”?

I don’t claim to have any inside information on Rush’s situation, but drawing on what he has said, it seems that he had a painful back problem and went to Dr Quack. Dr Quack recommended surgery. Dr Quack messed up the surgery. Dr Quack prescribed a pain killer to Rush for temporary relief of a long term problem. Dr Quack’s prescription ran out on Rush, leaving him in debilitating pain. Rush knew the pain killer could allow him mobility, and Dr Quack offered no option other than permanent debilitating pain for the rest of his natural life. It seems to me that Rush should have been “doctor shopping” a long time ago!

Why is Rush on trial here, without even any charges being filed? Shouldn’t Dr Quack be the one being investigated for leading an innocent victim down the path of lawlessness and drug use? Where is the AMA? Could it be that they, along with the press have an anti-Rush agenda? Nah, couldn’t be. If I believed that I’d be one of the black helicopter conspiracy types then, wouldn’t I?

"I am not popping pills that my wife has."

Whew, that's good to know.

I would hate to find out you were involved with pill popping along with your passion for corporate theft.

Ummmmm nope not dishonest. I see that you are like today's typical Republicrat spin any way you can to twist a valid argument. I am done playing your schoolyard games. Please spare me your "you should not do this" or that. My BOSS has his way of managing of which you are not my boss. He has NO PROBLEM IN DOWNTIME TO ALLOW US TO SURF THE NET. You do not know my job and probably not technical or competant enough to grasp it. BTW pal I did work for the government at one time it is called the USMC. Something of which you will never know of. So spare me your chastising. And above all please go find a life. So to answer your question as to whether I am allowed to do what it is I was doing the answer is yes. But I enjoy allowing you to dig yourself into a hole. One thing I know I am not allwed to do is be a public dope head.

Refer to post 442 about the part we are allowed to surf then get back with me. I love so called "experts" when they stumble over the foot and mouth syndrom.

I told him that I didn't need it, because I had a Rx for vicodin, but I did ask if he could give me an Rx for something weaker (I'm hypersensative to hydrocodone: When I take one, I need to go lay down for about 9 hours). So, he gave me a Rx for Darvocet. The neurosurgeon decided that I needed surgury, and in the mean time, gave me an Rx for oxycontin.

Good news. Since you told Doctor #2 about your other prescription, you are not a felon. But you were close to committing a felony under FL law.

Bart, that prior post of yours was a laser guided bunker buster.

As they say, you get the most flak when you are over the target.

Obviously you don't listen to Rush .. so your comments are disgusting. Rush has already taken responsibility for his actions.

As I said on another thread .. this is an attack by the Hillary goon squad. The state attorney general is one of Janet Reno's goons. Somehow this fact is being overlooked by the media. If Hillary wants to run in 2004, she has to find a way to shut Rush up. What better way than to find people within the FL govt who will be willing to help her accomplish her goal. When this attorney general ORDERED his people to open the "sealed" files of Rush, even though they knew Rush had filed a stay, shows me they had only one goal .. to get the information from the files before they were taken away. Now the files have been resealed .. and the cat is out of the bag. Hopefully .. they did not find anything they can try to use against Rush .. but if anything leaks out .. I would expect Rush will sue them BIG TIME over it.

Al Franken and Ed Asner said, "now we've got him". And .. you think Rush is making this stuff up ..?? Rush is being attacked because he's exposing the Hillary gang for what they really are.

The doctors (3 of them) .. 2 are in the same office (meaning there is ONE GENERAL RECORD which would show all the drugs the patient is taking from all doctors within the same group, and the third doctor is his ear doctor. How on earth can anyone with any brains at all call that "doctor shopping".

This also dovetials with hitlary's declaration that she will call talk shows. They are trying to make Rush look weak.

This will be an opportunity to make them look more pathetic and Rush will come out even more of a juggernaut of conservatism. This in not puffing but strategy. The best defense is a good offense. Rush is no longer subject to black mail.

The rats have no more protection.

Where are the drug possession/trafficking charges then?

Sorry, I'm not going to play the words game.
Wilma Cline has not been charged (nor Ted Kennedy for that matter). By law purchase, possession, or effective control of 4 grams or more is trafficking. The summary I saw on the Smoking gun website shows that to be the case.

Is Rush's investigation politically motivated? Hell yeah!
I don't have any bi+ch with Limbaugh. My beef is with the folks that cheer the War on Drugs regardless of the damage to our rights or the notion of a nation of free citizens. Rush is under investigation for violating law that stem directly from the WOsD.
Although it was said in satire, the line "The law in its majesty prohibits the rich as well as the poor from stealing bread or sleeping under the bridges" still applies.

What does possession of Oxycontin have to do with money laundering?

Nothing. It's the converse that's the connection:
Cash to buy OxyContin pills from Wilma (if you believe her story)
- or -
Cash to pay off Wilma's blackmail (if you believe Rush's story).

Rush Limbaugh knew that he had a target on his back and if he slipped up --the Demo-snipers would be all over him. Rush slipped up.

Rush had pain associated with his coccyx bone.

Interesting. He said that the doctors told him that if he wanted to have the surgery to relieve the back pain, it could possibly hurt his larynx since they have to go through his neck. Are you inferring that Rush's ass is in his head?

BTW, he had a cyst removed from his tail bone over 30 years ago, which is why he didn't serve in Vietnam.

I am sure playing golf 6 days week didn't give his coccyx, neck, bone cancer, or whatever story it is this week, any favors.

HLL, the intention of my post was to point out what may have been the catalyst for Rush BECOMING addicted to painkillers, which would easily be explained by the coccyx bone problem. There are apparently current issues with another part of his spine, which he is/was currently being treated for.

Excuse me, but Rush is NOT whining about being caught, and is actually happy to be free of the drugs finally. He is upset about the constant false accusations that he can't respond to!

You think that the prosecution has money laundering & trafficking in their pocket, yet they are spending all this time and energy trying for the crown jewel of convictions - doctor shopping?????

No. I said if there is a plea, It won't be a misdemeanor plea, but a symbolic felony plea for the political spin.
I don't think the money laundering is a slam dunk considering Rush's claim of blackmail. The trafficking is likely a given since that is the way the law is written.

But back to the hypothetical situation of a plea bargain ...
Rarely do people plead to the higher charge. In exchange for dropping the more serious, they'll plea to the lesser charge. In this case: Doctor shopping.
