I can't remember the true quote so I'm gisting here, but Walter Cronkite once said that on a no-news day the media would present it to the public with the same gusto as if it were a news-banner day. Thus they fill their broadcasts with uninteresting drivel when there are very moving stories from small-town America that, as in this case, elicit heart-tugging and tears. This is the way our military dead should be honored. With all the junk on TV and all we hear about in the press, here is a story that restores faith in this country.

There are quite a few photos of the funeral and music attached to the web page, so turn on your sound. This is a good read and though it is heart-wrenching, it also serves to perk us up.

I recall going to KY to my young cousin's funeral. He was 10 when he was taken from us. He grew up in a town of about 1000 people in SE KY, near VA/TN corner. Everyone we passed pulled off the road, men stepped from their trucks and removed their hats, ladies were seen saying silent prayers.
How we treat each other is the measure of us all ... 'And the sum of the law is this, love one another.'
This is the America that the left does not understand. This is the America worth fighting for. This is the America that will not sit on the sidelines when freedom is under attack.

Excuse me while I try to catch a breath because my heart somehow got stuck up in my throat and my glassy damp eyes make it hard to read. God bless this young man who gave his life for freedom.

Dear God,
Please hold this James in your palm and comfort his family. Please let him know I said thank you, and that I am so sorry my freedom comes at such a cost to him and his family. .. from the mother of a little five year old James.
I will never forget that freedom is not free, and neither will my children.
I pray God will comfort the family of this fallen soldier, and that you will welcome all of the heroes ,into that special place in Heaven that has been reserved for the defenders of freedom.
