Bin Laden Tape Says U.S. War on Iraq a Crusade

DUBAI (Reuters) - Osama bin Laden attacked the U.S. war on Iraq as part of a new crusade against Islam in an audiotape purported to be by the al Qaeda leader aired on Arabic TV station Al Arabiya on Saturday. "Know that this war is a new crusade against the Islamic world and is a critical war for the whole Islamic nation," said the voice on the tape.
U.S. officials say bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri, his top deputy, are believed to be in the mountainous border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, although it is unclear whether they are together.
U.S. forces have been engaged in an intense manhunt for bin Laden since the September 11 attacks, blamed on al Qaeda, killed about 3,000 people in the United States in 2001.
Earlier on Saturday a CIA official in Washington said technical analysis of a separate audio tape aired on Friday of Zawahri showed it was "most likely" authentic.
Arabic television al Jazeera broadcast that tape, in which al Qaeda's second in command said his group was chasing Americans everywhere, including the United States.
Jazeera and Al Arabiya have in the past broadcast similar messages said to be from bin Laden and Zawahri. The CIA has said some of those also appeared to be authentic.

"He's dead, Jim".

Osama has finally said something I agree with. We are on a crusade - a crusade against dictators and assorted others who would enslave their fellow man.

It is troubling that Zawahri and OBL have both been "on the air" in the past 2 days.

And so, like Howard Dean supporters, these Islamic fundamentalists continue their lemming like charge over the cliff of defeat.

There is no "whole Islamic nation." Never has been. You are correct to some extent, but one could certainly argue that pan-arabism has been on a steady increase through much of the middle east since the 1970's as a direct result of the 1973 war.

This is as much directed at the infidels in the Western universities and the liberal media to whom the Crusades were an evil episode. As a matter of fact, the Muslims of the Midele ages never even used the term when writing about the invasions of the Franks.

Yesterday, ABC (All Bill Clintoon) had a totally false report about terrorist attacks that hammered our American stock indexes.
Now we have part two, the monthly Follywood/$oreA$$ tape of the long dead Benny Laden. This will scare some sheeple away from the market.
The lefties have nothing else to moan about to try and drive our markets down.

Bullshit. THEY are the aggressors; THEY are the CRUSADERS.

Osama bin Laden attacked the U.S. war on Iraq as part of a new crusade against Islam in an audiotape purported to be by the al Qaeda leader aired on Arabic TV station Al Arabiya on Saturday. "Know that this war is a new crusade against the Islamic world and is a critical war for the whole Islamic nation," said the voice on the tape. Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. as part of it's new pan-Islamic crusade against all non-Islamists. Of course truth isn't a concern for such a flaming liar as Osama, but the U.S. is acting in response to his actions.
To: nwctwx
After the first successful Crusade the others failed because Western Europe could never really unite and fight together. The paradox is that it was mostly French, (Gallic), German (Germanic) Crusaders who were willing to fight in the early marches into Islam, and today it's been reversed. If only we can all unite this time around and finish the job.
To: Luke Skyfreeper
And Luke, in the medieval Crusades, they were the aggressors then too--it was the ISLAMISTS who would not let the Christian Pilgrims into Jerusalem that started the whole dang thing...ef 'em...I can't stand their BS anymore.
