A gay San Jose couple Tuesday sued the nation's leading adoption-related Internet business, contending that it must abide by California anti-discrimination laws and stop barring same-sex couples from posting personal ads seeking birth mothers looking for prospective adoptive parents.
For Rich and Michael Butler, whose commitment to parenthood is so strong they have already turned a bedroom into a powder-blue nursery with puffy white clouds and taken the same last name, the case against Adoption.com has turned into a crusade on behalf of all same-sex couples.

As Bay Area natives, we know all the local trails and their hidden treasures which we will share with our child. < SNIP > When we're not out tending the garden or playing with the dogs, we enjoy many outdoor sports such as hiking, rollerblading, and skiing. Michael loves to work on home improvement projects, and Rich is an avid racquetball player < SNIP >
On many weekends, we barbecue for family and friends while the kids and dogs run around the yard chasing lizards, butterflies, and each other!
We want to expose our child to many different activities so that they can discover their own passion

"I'm pretty sure this is a crime!" Depends on the age and jurisdiction.

but NO one has a RIGHT to adopt. it is a privlege.
So adoption agencies discriminate against those with disabilities (e.g. blind, mentally ill, under or over a certain age, not married long enough, not enough bedrooms in the house, etc.)
Indeed, there are restrictions on the race of the child, the age of the child.
And a girl who knows her child might be placed with such a family without her knowledge might just decide to say no to such an adoption agency and keep the kid, or worse, abort it...And, of course, if this is about "open" adoptions where mom chooses the couple, then you have another reality: Most girls who put their kids up for adoption are christian girls who would not choose such a couple.

Let's face the reality of this situation squarely in the face.
Adoption.com is a "private business" selling a product, babies for adoption, at a certain price, for a profit.
What is the constitutional basis that any government can dictate what price a product can be sold for and to whom the product is going to be sold to?
Free people, when espousing liberty, necessitates and demands that only the "private business" or property owner is to make that decision.
The right to discriminate, for whatever reason, is as basic and inherent as free speech, see Supreme Court Gilleo v City of Ladue.

What is the constitutional basis that any government can dictate what price a product can be sold for and to whom the product is going to be sold to? So you are saying that molesters can buy children and the government should be unable to interfere?

"but NO one has a RIGHT to *****. it is a privlege."
Many fail to distinguish between the two. Same with respect and fear. Very different, but often associated out of ignorance. "Victims" today feel everything is a right and not subject to merit of any type.

So you are saying that molesters can buy children and the government should be unable to interfere? Shhhhhh.... We mustn't disturb the workings of the market.
I took a look at their website -- these guys appear to be very wealthy, and the baby's room is very tastefully done. It's really quite pathetic, when you get right down to it. (At least, it's pathetic until you realize that they're willing to force people to give them a kid.)
