Phoenix: Is this what we want in our city (The effects of illegals)

Something I often see missing in the news about illegal immigrants, is what they bring to America. We all know about the financial drain on health care, and welfare, but what about the culture shock to American citizens?
Have you seen how some of our cities are looking lately? Illegals are coming over in such great numbers that we are starting to live in their cultural standards.
My neighborhood is now filled with people that think the front yard is a parking lot, and that standing in the front yard drinking Bud Light and partying after work is OK.
Businesses that fold because of declining neighborhoods are reemerging as dollar stores, check cashing marts, taco stands, or something that totally caters to Hispanics.
Loitering day labors are a terrible eye sore in our communities, but the police do nothing to stop it. If our own citizens would take the initiative and call the police something might get done.
The social and visual impact is frustrating to our citizens. How can we have a sense of class, or dignity when we look around at our environment and see nothing but trash and poverty?
Look at the poles while driving down the streets. They are covered in Hispanic graffiti. Theres hardly a pole untouched in the city of Phoenix. If you dont see it take your blinders off.
Those who are selling out the people of America for cheap labor, will themselves ultimately suffer the blight that it has brought us all.

when the poor people in question weren't speaking English I think the bigger issue that Americans resent is the fact that we're forced to pay all the bills for people who aren't even citizens. It's bad enough having to support welfare for U.S. citizens, let alone being forced to support Mexico too.
The entitlements to illegals MUST be stopped before the next 10 million come.

Interesting image.
Did you ever notice how Hollywood always twists things and portrays the white guys as southern dummies or weak ignorant losers?
Can you imagine the howl and outrage if instead of the "Simpson's" it was the "Sanchez's". Or if that image you posted was filled with illegals that were constantly mocked?
Wonder how long these shows would last?

Bump and thanks for the post.

Could the current trends be reversed? Yes. But they will not be. The political "costs" of doing so are too radical, too draconian.Unfortunately, I'm afraid you are correct.....What a shame...

How many cities in California has this happened to? Dozens I can name at least a dozen in southern California alone. It's unbelievable what this state is turning into, Mexican colonias like Tijuana.

It's interesting how few of these people complained about the entitlements until they started going to illegals. This could be really good for the country in the long run, a whole new section of society is learning that welfare is a failed system and bad idea.

I call, fax and e-mail everyone in Washington about the mess in California, along with the state officials here. Don't know if it does any good, but I keep trying.

My neighborhood went Hispanic about three years ago. A couple years ago a punk who lives nextdoor said,"whatch your back whitey we outnumber you now".
That weekend I invited some of my Harley buddies over and we did burnouts in the driveway, which is right by their house. We finally quit about one in the morning. Now my neighbors just smile and wave when they see me.

The entitlements to illegals MUST be stopped before the next 10 million come. It's our OWN 'citizens' that are producing; not the next 10; but the next 30; non-productive, resource sucking, WIC seduced, instituitionalized, subsidized parasites that our GOVERNMENT WANTS to arrive in the next generation.

The amount of violent crime perpetrated by these illegals is stunning! But what do you expect from people who have no respect for our laws?

Can you imagine the howl and outrage if instead of the "Simpson's" it was the "Sanchez's". Smithers was black for the first year or 2 of the series. He was such a toadie that I guess Greoning got hit by the PC crowd. So he had to be white since he was a negative character.

Now isn't that line (which we have heard before) a bit too hard for most of the dear readers of this forum to swallow? There are at least two things we can do: close the borders so few more illegals get in, and pass the CLEAR Act which will compel BICE to pick up and deport those illegal aliens the police catch in their routine duties.
I agree going door to door is not an acceptable option for most of us, but we could take at least some action to get a handle on the problem.

"You get what you subsidize." We're now subsidizing foreign poverty, ignorance, disease and dependence. What an insult to Americans this is!! Most of our "elected ones" think it's great. Time for a regime change.

Third world country coming to your neighborhood soon, courtesy of Tom Ridge and the U.S. government refusing to take a stand against ILLEGALS.

It is to the point where ever you go, you are not going to escape them.
I grew up where I now live. About 7 miles from what use to be a small town. It has now merged into stores, malls, low income apartments and Mexicans every where.
Local out of work residents, can kiss the food bank goodbye, Mexicans are lined up at 5am to get in line.
People are fed up with it, but the government is an island into itself, the politicans are going to do what the PARTY wants.
50 years of voting, and I have seen more in the disconnect between the voters, and their wishes, and government than in the last 20 years.
I asked my son, what kind of a country are these grandkids and ggreadkids going to have. He said, "Mom, they will grow up with it, they will never know what it use to be, like when you and I grew up."

That is fine for you and I am laughing hearing this. But you have more gonads than most, and are probably young. What about the little guy or an elderly man or woman being threatened? And it happens all the time in California.

Hmm, you could say virtually the same thing about a large section of the southeast part of my city, but it's inhabited mostly by whites whose families have been in the U.S. for generations. This is socio-economic more than it is cultural.

"close the borders so few more illegals get in,"
But they don't and they wont. Now we are talking about more amnesty, which in turn will bring more in. The city next to mine went from 20% hispanic to 64% in only ten years. The signs are all in spanish now. They cant afford my neighborhood, but there is flight outta here big time!
To: Joe Hadenuf
And Senator McCain AGREES with Ridge!!! I can see, where I work, how many parents that live HERE refuse to speak anything but Spanish, and expect US to cater to them!!
