Rush shuts down DU again!
Posted on 12/15/2003 10:30:42 AM PST by ConservativeMan55
Rush is quoting posters from DU again. They're server crashed!
He was quoting about how posters thought Bush was more of a danger than Saddam!

You know that Tom Dashle is a poster at DU? Where did you come by that info and how can we verify it?

I should have pinged you on my reply as well...
Q: "I am a long time lurker and new poster, somewhere along the line I missed the "All your (whatever) are belong to us" reference. Just curious as to where it's from. Carry on."
A: Baghdad Bob, the information minister for Saddam, used the "All your (your noun here) are belong to us" during the few days of the Iraq war.
Um, no. IIRC it was a Japanese official speaking about our bases in Okinawa after some Marines did some bad things to the locals. He wanted to kick us off Japanese soil and claim the land. He was quoted as saying (paraphrased due to the passage of time...), "All your bases are belong to us."

I thought "All Your Bases Are Belong To Us" came from a Japanese cartoon.
I read that LeftyAndProud post here on FR last week. It is obviously written by a FR lurker.

I posted this on FR at 6am yesterday morning:
A quick review of DU to get the early DNC position (Know thy enemy). Some early exceprts:
-- Well, I might as well go back to bed now. This is all they'll be talking about on the Sunday news, and Bush will be praised all day. I'm happy for the Iraqis, if this is the truth. But even if he's captured, it's still far from over.
-- So if true, it was the Kurds that got him and told the world, not the US troops and the Pentagon media whores reporting. Hmm... but the US will claim the capture.
-- Would Saddam be so foolish as to take refuge in Tikrit? Have they already had him in custody for some time time and are just now announcing it for some political purpose? Why was he captured and not killed like his two sons? This is the beginning of the 2004 presidential race... could there be some political advantage to Bush at this time?
-- They still haven't found Bin-Laden so it would suprise me if they actually found Saddam.
-- Are they going to let him get to trial and let him tell his story and implicate some Bush adminstration people? Or, is there going to be some kind of accident?
-- He's got serious dirt on people. Seriously- don't bet on him making it to trial, IF they let the Hague get ahold of him in the first place (even though he CLEARLY should be there- the US has no jurisdiction over his war crimes). On edit: Man, that would be great if he could take down some of Bushco with him.
-- We've now apparently captured the problem we helped create.
-- Is there some anti-Bush angle to this that we've been missing?
-- Well, outside of the fact that nothing about Hussein's capture changes the ill will felt towards America for our unilateral action, all the dead Iraqi civilians, the dead American soldiers, the crumbling infrastructure and so on, and will likely do little to curb the violence in the country...then no, there's no anti-Bush angle to it.
-- CNN anchor says that while the capture of Saddam Hussein will likely play very well in the United States, it probably won't make a hill of beans to the Iraqis.
-- At least the buzz of this will have cooled-down by the time Nov 2 rolls around again.
-- Mixed blessing, I'm glad Saddam has been captured, but I don't think we'll ever hear the end of this from the repugs. I'm dreading the next few weeks.

There was a thread going here yesterday about some of the comments being made over there so i klicked the link to have a looksee and realized i had found the portal to dante's seventh ring of hell. OMG those people are completely unhinged, gone zoo, mindboogling mad, phycotic nutters.
and the funniest thing was the moderator was besheeching those devils to please keep thier posts at a civil level because other people may happen upon the site and the mod didnt want others to think they were over the top or worse be mistaken for traitors or something.
If they thought thier post were civil they live in an alternerete deminsion from the rest of us.
