Germany’s “Peace” Movement Actively and Openly Supporting Iraqi Terrorism
Medienkritik.Typepad.com ^ | December 2003 | Raymond Drake

Posted on 12/15/2003 3:20:24 AM PST by Bryan

Just when you thought the German “peace” movement couldn’t get much more hypocritical they take things to a whole new level. Last week the unbelievable lack of protest at the German government’s plutonium and arms deal with Communist China made it seem as the peace freaks had all rolled up into a big ball for a long winter hibernation.

Not so! The German TV news program “Panorama” uncovered some of the wonderful activities that particularly dedicated cadres of the German peace movement are currently engaged in. In the spirit of peace, a number of groups have started a fund-raising campaign entitled “10 Euros for the Iraqi Resistance”. The money will be provided to the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance (IPA) a group dedicated to carrying out attacks against US soldiers in Iraq in collaboration with Saddam loyalists. The common goal is to "liberate” the Iraqi people from the evil imperialist American occupiers. On their website these groups gush with enthusiasm about turning Iraq into another Vietnam for the USA.

OK, what’s the big deal? Why can’t people recognize that these young, misunderstood idealists simply have the interests of the Iraqi people at heart? Clearly, supporting more terror acts that blow away innocent Iraqi civilians and the reinstatement of a Baathist terror regime is the best imaginable way to further the cause of world peace. And just think, if the fine humanitarians supporting this action really do succeed in reaching their goals they can form a volunteer troupe to begin digging new mass graves in Iraq for the new Saddamist government.

Don’t you just love peace?

Excerpts from the Panorama report:

Joachim Guilliard from Heidelberg is a “peace” activist who actively supports the armed resistance in Iraq. Joachim Guilliard (anti-war forum in Heidelberg, Germany): “Resistance, also military resistance against the occupiers is naturally legitimate. This has no relation to terrorism.”

At home, Joachim Guilliard openly calls for the support of underground fighters because of their supposed “right to resistance.” Guilliard: “I think the peace movement should stand for exactly this right of the Iraqis that I hold to be reasonable to inflict the necessary losses on the occupation troops.”

Commentary: Dead Americans, cheering Iraqis. Victims of the “Resistance fighters.”

For this type of resistance the German war opponents have even started a funds drive in several cities. “Ten Euro for the Iraqi people in resistance.” Yesterday they collected in Duisburg.

Commentary:

The campaign is clearly having success. The shady transfer of the money to the Iraqi resistance is also already planned.

Thomas Zmrzly (war opponent) “Yes, it could be very dangerous. We are collecting the money to support the Iraqi people in resistance in their legitimate fight against the occupation. We want to send a delegation to Iraq next year, but we know how dangerous such a delegation would be.”

Interviewer: “Where is the money going that the students are donating?”

Henning von Stoltzenberg: (war opponent) “The contact partner in Iraq is the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance, a coaltion of all political spectrums in the Iraqi society.”

Commentary: The Patriotic Alliance shows what it does on camera: Terror attacks. With regard to this Patriotic Alliance you are at the right address if you are in favor of killing Americans. The Alliance’s fighters are proud of their attacks.

Leading functionaries of the Patriotic alliance make appearances in Germany completely uninhibited. Together with Saddam Hussein they founded the Baath party…now they are organizing attacks.

The members of Saddam Hussein’s Baath Party are profiting from the Euros donated by the German peace activists - with the knowledge of the Germans.

Jocahim Guilliard: “I think when one supports the resistance I would not tell them who they then work with. So I would support it if the Patriotic Alliance worked together with the Baathists.”

Commentary: German leftists are working together with Saddam’s partners? Even Iraq’s far left has the slightest understanding or tolerance for that.

Rashid Ghwielib: (Communist Party of Iraq) “To be against the occupation does not mean that you can support these criminal attacks, the so-called resistance in Iraq.”

Commentary: But such criticism finds no takers with some peace groups.

Peace Activist: “I support the Iraqi resistance even if it is run by people who used to support Saddam Hussein…I have nothing against that.”

Here is the website of the German anti-war group that is soliciting 10-euro donations for the Iraqi insurgents. I haven't bothered to correct their spelling but they are clearly bragging about helping to turn Iraq into a Vietnam quagmire:

href=http://www.antiimperialista.com/view.shtml?category=9&id=1060180259&keyword=+

10 Euro per person for the Iraqi resistance

Three months have passed since emperor G. W. Bush declared the end of hostilities in Iraq. The rapid success of the US forces over the Iraqi army – due to the capitulation of the high command right at the crucial moment of the defence of Baghdad – made the Anglo-Americans believe to have achieved a total victory. Taking over Baghdad they ridiculized the words of the information minister. Now it is our turn to rediculize their arrogance.

Not even finished, the war started again. Only a few days after the collapse of the Iraqi army guerrilla forces began attacking the mercenaries of the occupation forces. They keep inflicting them losses which are of high political and morale value. Among the US bionic soldiers fear is spreading. As Beirut and Mogadisho already have proved, high tech equipment is not enough to win a war.

Already hundreds of fighters are involved in the armed resistance movement and the tide keeps rising. Despite the media’s attempts to discredit the guerrillas it is evident that they got ample popular support. Children are exulting in front of destroyed US vehicles, while the occupiers thought that they would be waved with stars and stripes banners.

Now they find themselves in a quagmire which could tern into a new Vietnam. However, for the oppressed peoples the resistance is a dream. They hope that one day the occupants will be forced to leave not only from Iraq. We share this hope and want to support it with our militant solidarity.

We therefore invite all the anti-imperialists who oppose the American Empire without any ideological and religious precondition to start an international collection of funds supporting the Iraqi national resistance movement: we ask every person to donate 10 euros. The Iraqi national resistance front in formation will decide upon their utilisation.

Committees, political, social and cultural organisations as well as individuals who endorse this proposal are asked to contact us. Our aim is to build an international popular campaign in support of the Iraqi resistance which also implies the creation of the appropriate international body. At the Anti-imperialist Camp in Assisi, September 2003, we will discuss together with the Iraqi comrades how to proceed.

So, they are aiding and abetting the terrorists. They are enemy non-combatants, we have an extridition treaty with Germany.

I assume we will see their arrest and extridition to the U.S. immediately! /sarcasm off

Disturbing: Communist activism in Iraq

Much of the celebrations have been accompanied by the red flags of the Iraqi Communist Party, many of them complete with a hammer and sickle. Today, there was more celebration.... and there were more red flags. Their is a communist element trying to capitalize on this. I find it interesting that there were no red flags until very recently. There is a coordinated effort to hijack this freedom. This story is not being reported by any media that I can find...

The "Berlin/Bagdad Arrow" is more alive today than it ever was during WW2. The only difference now is, the bow has drawn back all the way to Washington, D.C. Anyone in between that interfers with this "arrow" will be or has already been labeled a "terrorist" or an appeaser.

Everybody walk in zee zeengle vile, follow za leader. All of you in Group "A" geeve us your right shoes. All of you group "B" geeve us your left shoes. Why? Vell, because vee now have too many right shoes.

Interestingly, the Communist Party in Iraq is marching against terrorism and celebrating the capture of Saddam. Since the DemocRat Party is even left of the commies, is there any doubt that there is absolutely no way that we can negotiate with them?

Leftists are the same worldwide. The question is how much political support, message coordination, and financing comes from the "international auxilary" of the Democrat Party? (I ran into one such activist at a cocktail party in NYC recently but couldn't get her to divulge much of what she was doing abroad with her ideological counterparts.)
