It didn't take long for reporters hostile to President Bush to begin spinning the news of Saddam Hussein's capture. "The one thing to remember is that, even though we've got Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden is still out there," complained Washington Post reporter Robin Wright on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"And in many ways he's far more dangerous than Saddam Hussein was," she added.
On the same program, Time Magazine columnist Joe Klein suggested that another 9/11 attack could revitalize Democrat hopes of defeating Bush next November.
"This election, more than any other I've covered, is out of the hands of the politicians and in the hands of the events that take place in the world," he noted.
"All it would take, God forbid, would be one [domestic terrorist attack] - not even on the level of the World Trade Center. You know, say they take out an elementary school or a movie theater or a shopping mall.
"That could change everything," Klein predicted.

Joe Klein suggested that another 9/11 attack could revitalize Democrat hopes of defeating Bush next November. How can you even look at yourself in the mirror, Mr. Klein?

I saw that--you should have added hurl alert. Couldn't believe Klein. He sounded like be was praying for a new terrorist catastrophe. How does he think that would help the Dems, anyway?

"Spinning" is not the word for this...........I'm not sure of the proper word, but spinning is far too mild.

These people are so predictable that at our house we had already figured what the spin would be. Bush could have gotten him sooner---well, he hasn't gotten Osama---Bush had Sadaam hidden all along---. And so it goes. Spin, Spin, as fast as they can. God I am grateful not to be a RAT.
To: Mamzelle
He sounded like be was praying for a new terrorist catastrophe. The Dims have been praying for ANY kind of catastrophe, more deaths of our troops, violence, here & in Iraq, etc.,so that they can win an election.
Truly disgusting, lowlife POS.

I thought Robin Wright worked for the LA Times. Mox Nix, I guess.

What a monster. That's the most sickening thing I've heard in a long time: some half-assed columnist strategizing for al Qaida.

Can you imagine anyone saying circa 1944 "The only hope Republicans have in defeating FDR is another Pearl Harbor?"
It is interesting to watch, though, in sort of a moral-train-wreck fashion. Just when I think they can't go any lower, they chisel through another layer of anti-American bedrock.

Right, Klein, it would make Americans as mad as hell and would insure the re-election of Bush as the one man we can depend on to take action.
