What about the DNA testing? You can't do that in less than a week. DNA matching takes a significant amount of time. DNS testing, which gives only a probability of identification, is done quite quickly. But the combination of DNA, scars, and appearance would be enough to establish certainty.

Interesting that arabic-language reporters seem to have a large proportion of females. I'm sure that's not an accident, sending a message of a new era in the Islamic world...

I think you still might have missed it. Independence.
That spell button on the post screen comes in handy :-)

Saddam has already announced a news conference. It is expected he will be joining Al Gore in throwing his support to Howard Dean. Saddam did not even have the decency to phone Joe Lieberman.

I'm very concerned about the effects this capture will have on the American justice system. How will accused criminals here in the US ever receive justice now that every defense attorney in the US has just departed for Bagdad?

All of the Media sniping against the capture of Saddam should be identified as Weasel I, Weasel II, etc and met with similar firepower.

Put him on trial? Well, I vote for that plastics shredder. It would seem appropriate, since the sons missed that opportunity.
