Wow, isn't that wonderful? You know, gutting the First Amendment to the Constitution all to screw the Democrats out of a couple of million dollars an election is so great.
You know what else would help? Let's get rid of women having the right to vote too! Since they vote democrat 60%-40% that'll really give the GOP that nice old edge!

Do you even comprehend the difference between the statements "At this point, I'd almost like to see Dean win" Evidently you don't remember what you post:
To: Cubs Fan
I'd rather Dean won at this point.
I prefer being stabbed in the chest to the back.

Look y'all, this is good and healthy catharsis, but let's go back to making your voices heard within the Republican Party. Those of you talking about taking your ball and going home - Grow up. This is politics! Purge the RINOs, run for office, start ballot initiatives, etc. but
turn some of your negative energy into action! Freepers are a force to be reckoned with.
Now about that judiciary thing - let's go to our milquetoast senators and demand a real filibuster!

What is with these people that want to teach us a lesson -- I certainly don't need a Dean or Hillary lesson -- we had 8 years of Clinton -- what more do they want? A Civil War???

You're out of the loop now, you are making Daschle the most happy. As GWB said you are either with us or against us, and not being with GWB (even in his errors) works against us and in favor of the Daschle's, Gore's, Dean's, Kennedy's and Clinton's.
But then again it is your call.
To: Jim Robinson
You've already surrendered Jim.
It just hasn't quite sunk in yet.
Sorry old friend, but that's the way I see it.
If Bush were a Democrat, you would be screaming for his head on a platter. But, because he's a Republican you're willing to overlook his absolute failure to stand for one single conservative principle. Not one.
The only thing Bush has going for him is his steadfast dealing with the threat of Islamic terror and to tell you the truth I don't think he's doing all that much about that.
I'm totally in favor of the Iraq war, but let's face facts; the real threat is the Saudis. They always have been. But Bush pussyfoots around with them and invites them to his ranch. That's pathetic.
Domestically Bush is almost a complete failure when it comes to advancing anything remotely resembling a conservative agenda. Other than a niggardly tax cut, he's done more to expand the size and scope of the Federal Government than any President since LB freaking J.
More Federal spending on schools? No problem.
More Federal spending on agriculture? No problem.
More Federal pork barrel highway bills? No problem.
Protectionist tarrifs which raise prices on consumer goods in order to garner votes? No problem.
Borders so porous that they make cheesecloth look like a minefield? No problem.
The largest increase in a Federal 'entitlement' program in American history under Medicare? No problem.
A patently Unconstitutional infringement on the First Amendment tarted up as 'Campaign Finance Reform'? No problem.
Don't even get me started on the AWB and Bushes already stated intention to sign a 'renewal' when (not if) it gets to his desk.
Now you can toss me out of here if you wish to Jim. Hell, it sure wouldn't be the first time, but there's something that needs saying and Ima gonna say it.
You're suffering from the political version of Battered Wife Syndrome Jim. The Republican party has kicked you in the head so many times it doesn't seem like you can think clearly anymore.
Do you honestly think that sternly worded emails, letters, and calls to Congress are going to do a damned thing? Do you honestly think that we can get CFR 'repealed' or 'improved' somehow?
Don't you realize what SCOTUS has said Jim? The First Amendment is gone. It's a dead freeping letter. Oh sure, you can hold your rallies in the streets, with a permit granted in advance of course, unless you're too close to an abotoir for unborn children then you can't say a damned thing.
Jim, I have a lot of respect for you. I've been around here for what, 6 or 7 years or so? But it's high time you faced some facts. Setting aside the War, Bush is an unmitigated disaster for the conservative movement.
I'll say it again. Bush is an unmitigated, unadulterated, thorough, and damned near complete disaster for the American conservative movement.
His Administration has done damage to this country that won't be undone for generations if can be done at all.
Worst of all, he's done it with the backing of people who claim to be conservatives.
I held my nose and voted for Bush Jim. Largely because I thought like you did. Hell, it was him or AlGore. But I'm just about through with the Republican Party Jim. They're worse than useless. They're frigging complicit.
And as much as it pains me to tell you Jim, you're complicit as well.
There's only one way to get to these bastards Jim and that's to hit them where it hurts the most.
Deny them votes.
That's the only thing they understand. It's the only thing they are ever going to understand. The National Republican Party has been treating it's conservative wing like bastard children for too long and it's time we stop showing up at their little parties.
Now, will this mean we may have to live through a Dean Administration? Maybe it does. This country managed to survive 8 years of Clinton well enough.
The Republican Party needs to earn my vote. It was paid for in blood by me and my ancestors and I don't intend to just give it to a party that kicks me in the face and then tells me that the other party would just kick me even harder.
Sorry to be so long winded and all, but that's the way I see things right now Jim.

Several Democratic-leaning groups are already in action, raising millions in corporate, union and unlimited ``soft money'' donations that the national parties can no longer accept under the new law. Oh, gosh, I wish the GOP had thought of that. / sarcasm off.

Thanks, I had heard similar reports. The Soroses and such of the world be damned.
In the mean time, our mission must to educate and inform the American electorate, not to ram spears in each others arses.
There'll be plenty of time for that later should we all end up sitting in gulags built with our own tax dollars.

So vote Dean.
I was waiting for a Bush-right-or-wrong groupie to chime in with that one.
To: PhiKapMom
You know what the big turd on the carpet is don't you with this Bill from a process policy perspective don't you? Yep, there is NO accountability. The issues groups that will be the new soft money conduits can just spam all they want, and the party and the candidate if the spam that is put out is noisome and sucks, can well say, I have not controlling legal authority, and it isn't me, it is them.

We have to be patient, that's all! Just wait when, after the November 2004 election, we have a majority in Congress, in the Senate, most of state governorships, and a Republican President for a change! We'll show them then! Me cain't wait!

I am not saying people should not let the President know that they are upset with a decision he made. I am saying that the people here that try to get others to vote for Democrats, vote Third Party or sit home on election day are wrong. No president pleases everyone all the time. When Reagan passed that rather generous abortion bill, my guess is that many were not happy. Did they threaten to withhold their vote or sit home? I don't think so. There is a real attempt by some on FR to turn people away from President Bush and it's the same people over and over again. My feeling is that some of them are not conservatives or even Republicans at all. Others are people that have never really supported Bush much in the first place.
I have not loved everything this President has done. However, I see him as a serious man that is doing the best he can in a situation often controlled by an extremely hostile media and a senate filled with RATS that filibuster everything they don't like. At the same time, he is trying to protect this country from terrorists that want not only to kill us but to kill him and his family. He has done a lot of good things, too, which he never seems to get any credit for around here. I admire him. I trust him. I think he loves this country. Is he perfect? No. Am I? Are you? No.
To: NormsRevenge
