Could Dean really win? Unfortunately, yes. The Democratic presidential candidate has, alas, won the popular presidential vote three times in a row -- twice, admittedly, under the guidance of the skilled Bill Clinton, but most recently with the hapless Al Gore at the helm. And demographic trends (particularly the growth in Hispanic voters) tend to favor the Democrats going into 2004.
But surely the fact that Bush is now a proven president running for reelection changes everything? Sort of. Bush is also likely to be the first president since Herbert Hoover under whom there will have been no net job creation, and the first since Lyndon Johnson whose core justification for sending U.S. soldiers to war could be widely (if unfairly) judged to have been misleading.

And demographic trends (particularly the growth in Hispanic voters) tend to favor the Democrats going into 2004. That is not entirely true. Recent polls show a Republican shift and the election results of the past decade prove that.

how many minorities have been at Dean rallies?

Krystal dances all around September 11 yet fails to mention the attacks' ties to job losses.

Actually Hispanics are just as liberal as they always were - The problem (For them) is that at least 30% of Hispanics in the US are Illegals who can't vote.
And 30% of the Hispanic population growth in the future is projected to come from Illegal immigration - so Hispanics won't have any real effect in elections in 2004.

You maybe right about Kristol and his fellow neocons are the ones pushing the Iraq war all along. Only when the war seems to go the wrong way, he backs off. Thanks to him no less on this LBJ comparison. Sure enough, Foxnews will have him on all day and all week. I think Dean could win if the WH listen more crapola from these neocons like Kristol. Get these corrupted guys out and win 04 in a landslide.

No, Clinton won 43% of the popular vote in 1992, and 49% in 1996. I'm surprised that Bill Kristol didn't do his homework.

The US has created over 300,000 jobs in the past 3 months - but of course NeoCon Kristol repeats the Democratic mantra about this being the worst economy "since Herbert Hoover".

even the most senior of Bush's subordinates haven't really internalized the president's view of the fundamental character of this war? Yea, he's a punk. The biggest pimp for the War, now playing devil's advocate for the Washington Leftist newspaper. He's like a spoiled rotten kid.
To: BookmanTheJanitor
Well he does have the confederate flag loving, truck driving, white southern mans vote in his pocket.
sarcasm.
To: Maceman
Oh they vote illegally, but it is much much harder for them to vote than it is for a Hispanic US citizen to vote, so the illegals don't make up that much of an electoral force (yet.)

huh ? did you read the article ? Bush could lose ?
how ? a meteor hit him in the head ? the dems
are provably selling America's freedom and safety for votes and an alliance with George Freakin Soros.
If we conservatives cannot defend against this at the polls,I submit you go get more shells, you'll need em.
The plum plain fact is Bill Krystal and Dick Morris are OUTTA WORK.
Dubya doesn't trust Bill and Morris is a toe sucker.
Or in Hollywood speak, has bens,so yesterday.
To get these two back to work they create scenerios or drop bombs they only can solution,,,,,,ain't that special
reminds me of an ole George Carlin 8track
"hey father, can God make a rock so big, that he himself cannot pick it up ?"...you know George
To: cars for sale
Why the hostility towards Krystal? He's not validating these arguments, just predicting the one's crazy Howard will use. Looks like a cogent analysis of Dean's best strategy. Let's not underestimate our foe. The libs underestimated GWB and look where it got them.
