It's easy if you try.

Ironically, today would have been Jim Morrison's 60th birthday, had he lived beyond the ripe old age of 27.
Both deaths were such a waste. There was no accounting for their politics or personal proclivities, but their musical abilities were indisputable.

With the advent of the Plastic Ono Band I was an ex-fan. Lennon's death was a tragic shame, anyway.

He was the most important member of the Beatles
No he wasn't. Being a Beatles fan for 40 years and have everything they recorded it is no doubt that Paul McCartney was the most important member.

I wasn't watching Monday night football at the time, but I certainly recall how stunned I was by the news. As a former Beatlemaniac, who was lucky enough to see them in concert I was very sad about this.

I remember this event as if it were yesterday...I was actually getting ready for work (night shift at McDonald's in my hometown in New Jersey) when the news broke...it was surreal, quite a shock, that a famous Rock Star had just been assassinated. And I had just purchased the single "Woman" that had come out not too long before the tragedy happened. Terrible shame.

OK, enough about the dead guy and his partner, the Beethoven of the 21st Century (and the 20th to boot!) who wrote that musical masterpiece Maybe I'm Amazed? Can we now talk about the groovy times we all had at Woodstock?

Bought 2 limited edition prints of Lennon drawings about 12 years ago for $75 and $125 each. Their now worth $6500 and $8500. The $3000 original my wife refused to let me buy is now worth about $22k. I rub her nose in it every chance I get. The prints are "Two as one" and "It's only Rock and Roll", a picture of Benny and the Jets.

All you folks crowing about Eagles albums and Fleetwood Mac albums being the best or something, well, all I know is that when I walk into Best Buy these days, or walk into Tower Records, they don't have a special rack of 35-year-old Eagles albums or Pink Floyd albums or Bee Gees albums in the place of honor at the front of the store, front and center.
They have Beatles albums.
Now that's something to think about. The real mark of a heavyweight band. And if you asked members of those groups, I think they would agree.
