I don't know if any other Presidents have put Scripture on their Christmas Cards.
That would be an interesting research project..... :o)

Thanks for the heads-up! This is his faith, and he isn't ashamed of it. Besides, how one can seperate CHRISTmas from Christ, is beyond me!
To: MinuteGal
Probably because they don't need the grief prior to election.
That's what PC is all about -- caving in to anti-Christian bigots so you "won't get grief." It's a sign of weakness, certainly not leadership.

He had the "courage" to use scripture!! As Post 58 stated, his appears to be the only Presidential "HOLIDAY/CHRISTMAS" card to have used scripture to date. Not bad in MY book!! :o)

Please note: I've asked the moderator to change the title of this post, because your title is inaccurate. The card says nothing about "Christmas." It uses the word "Holiday." Just as the moderator changes titles if the poster hasn't used the correct headline from a newspaper article, so your title should be changed to "Holiday," not "Christmas." (Too bad Bush doesn't have the courage to use the C- word!, but let's not pretend he used it when he didn't!)

He had the "courage" to use scripture!!
Scuse me, but the scripture he cites says nothing about the BIRTH OF CHRIST -- and THAT's WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT. It's old Testament passage, and not even one of the prophecies referring to Christ. Incredibly PC --- afraid to acknowledge the C- word, or what the "Holiday" is about! Make all the excuses for him you like, but that's the bottom line. (Oh, and presidential christmas cards used to use the word "Christmas" -- before the age of PC; I think Reagan's did, if memory serves.)

George Bush: "KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS (NOT)"
To: GRRRRR
The title of the thread says Merry Christmas, but the card does not.

I sent an "abuse" complaint to the moderator, asking that the title of this thread be changed to reflect what the card says ("holiday"), not what the poster wishes it said("Christmas")

I believe that donors to the RNC are added to the list. Probably also anyone who respectfully writes to the President would be added, too. So if you pay or grovel you can get one of these generic "holidays" cards from the people in power? Oh goody! Sign me up! (not)

Wishful thinking on the part of many. In his defense, no power seeker would ever risk sending a real one. Glad I'm not a power seeker.

I received my card the other day and was quite pleased. I still have my Christmas card
Stop the wishful thinking. This is not a "Christmas card," it is a "Holiday Greeting" that does not acknowledge Christmas.
To: Churchillspirit
It's probably the same for both, but I live on the west coast and it's 8pm here. If you're on the east coast I would check your listings.
To: churchillbuff
www.whitehouse.gov lists only one of Reagan's cards. Do you know of a source that could provide a full listing of card covers and content?
To: churchillbuff
Scuse me friend.. but he MENTIONS "FAITH"..and that IS religion the last time I WENT to church and prayed!
Do I take it you have a problem with our President?
To: Protagoras
The card was sent out as a CHRISTmas Card.. it wasn't sent at Easter.
I don't think any of us who got it thought it was a "Birthday card" or an "Anniversary card".
The fact that they used "scripture" (and that he and the First Lady were the first President and First Lady to ever do that) and mentioned "FAITH" in it makes it pretty obvious it "is" a RELIGIOUS card.
QUESTION: Who is Job addressing?
ANSWER: GOD
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
he MENTIONS "FAITH"..Faith in what?
He sure stuck his neck out with the "faith" mention.
The problem isn't with the President, it's with PC gone mad. All politicions do it if they rise high enough.

You NEED to re-read 77. Or do you NOT understand scripture!
