You mean they didn't REALLY sign ours!!!!!
LOL
But really, it's a great card. Better frame it, because the day is fast coming when it will be ILLEGAL for a President to put anything BIBLICAL on their Christmas Card!!
We were honored to get it. But we loved the one from Texas of the Governors house. Very personal, and very warm.
I just hope we get them for 5 more years :o)
God Bless this wonderful Family. May they continue to bring honor and dignity to our Whitehouse!
To: Syncro
You should send that to the White house!!!
:o)
That was adorable. Dang.....

Wouldn't it be cool if they'd been "postmarked" in Baghdad, 11/27? :-)LOL! yes, very cool indeed. The RATS would have had a fit. :)

I took mine to school last week. I was pleasantly surprised that some students recognized it as being from the White House.

I received a Christmas card for about the third year, I think based on the fact I volunteered on the campaign in 2000 (never gave money).
However I have an interesting problem, in that my address is right but it has someone else's name on it (very close alphabetically, like your name is say "Lincoln" and a card comes for "Linder" at your address). I have seen this happen before like a huge Texaco mailing about 20 years ago where the name and addreses were phase-shifted from the database lookup.
In general what are the postal regulations on this? I can't open it since it not addressed to me, and I can't find anyone in the state with that name.

Same with me. The Presidents Christmas card was my first one of the season.

LOL, I hang up all my cards in school. The one from the White House is right in front.

I have lived where I do now, for 8 years. I STILL get mail for 4 DIFFERENT former residents (I guess they are former - I don't know the names). At first, I put them back in the mail as not being at this address. I have inadvertantly opened some. They are not personal - bulk mail out stuff.

Agree with you about the picture being blah. As it was (slowly) appearing on my screen, I was expecting to see Spot and Barney lying in front of the fire. Too folksy I suppose.
To: WestCoastGal
Is that 8pm PST or EST?

I checked the White House website for past Christmas cards and found none to have added a scripture. Either it just wasn't listed, or President Bush is the first to include scripture in the Christmas greetings...?

HGTV tonight (Monday) at 8pm eastern...Laura Bush and White House Christmas Decorations. I assume Barney will make a cameo appearance. :o)

"Too bad PC rules, and I'll bet the President and First Lady gnash their teeth about it as I do."
then why did they send out a PC "nonChristmas" card?
To: SevenofNine
CORRECTION. arghg! WEDNESDAY night NOT Monday. Need more coffee.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
This isn't a Christmas card, it's a "holiday card." Bush apparently doesn't have the courage to use the word Christmas on his card.
To: Syncro
How very sweet!
My daughter sent Bush her allowance and a nice letter before he took office...during the time when x42id refused to hand over the transition team funds...to help him with financing everything. George and Laura sent a letter to my daughter, along with the $5, thanking her and encouraging her to use that $ towards a book of her choice.
We've contributed to the RNC but have never rec'd a card. Perhaps it has something to do with requesting our name off the call list...we were receiving up to 5 calls per week for more money. The barrell's empty after a while, ya know? :o)

Check out White House website for past Presidential Christmas cards. It would appear that Bush is the first using scripture.

Probably because they don't need the grief prior to election. I, too, don't like the PC games played today, but in some cases like this one, I do understand it.

They just can't bring themselves to say "Merry Christmas" or have a New Testament quote for this Christian Holiday.
Disgusting!
If I receive one, I'll send it back!
