MARCH 20, 2004: GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION on the FIRST ANNIVERSARY of the U.S. BOMBING and INVASION of IRAQ

* BRING the TROOPS HOME NOW! * END the OCCUPATION of IRAQ! * MONEY for JOBS, EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE and HOUSING - NOT WAR!

On March 20, 2004, protests will take place all around the world on the one year anniversary of the U.S. bombing and invasion of Iraq. People are organizing on a global scale to demand an end to the occupation of Iraq and an immediate withdrawal of U.S. military forces from the country.

DOWNLOADABLE FLYER: An easily-downloadable initial flyer to get the word out is now available with an empty box to add the specifics about your local action and your local contact information. You can print out the flyer, then simply type up your local information in word or any other program, print that out, paste it to this flyer, make copies and start spreading the word! Click on the below link to open the PDF (Acrobat Reader required): http://www.internationalanswer.org/campaigns/m20/index.html#flyer

Since the invasion began, hundreds of U.S. and British soldiers and unknown thousands of Iraqi people have been killed. The Iraqi people have clearly stated that occupation is not liberation that they want the foreign soldiers occupying their country to leave not tomorrow, but today. Growing numbers of U.S. soldiers and their families are calling to bring the troops home now. Increasing numbers of people in the United States are helping to build a movement against the occupation as they fight cuts to education, healthcare, job programs, housing and other social service programs.

On October 25, 100,000 people took to the streets of Washington DC to call for an immediate end to the occupation and to bring the troops home now. Tens of thousands more demonstrated in San Francisco and other U.S. cities, and in cities around the world. On that day, the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition began to circulate in the U.S. the international call for demonstrations on March 20 that had been made by groups around the world. Other organizations including United for Peace and Justice have also issued calls for the March 20 day of action. We urge all groups and organizations in the US to support this international call and to work together to show the power of a united movement on a global scale.

Begin planning now to hold a demonstration in your city on March 20, 2004. Hundreds of cities around the world are issuing, circulating and joining this call.

- In New York City, people are planning to assemble at 12 noon at Times Square with a march to the United Nations. Call 212-633-6646 for details about upcoming city-wide planning meetings and for more information.

- In Washington DC -- gather at the White House at 12 noon. Call 202-544-3389 for more information.

- In San Francisco the demonstration will gather at 11:00 am at Dolores Park (18th Street and Delores St.) with a march to the Civic Center. Call 415-821-6545 to get invovled.

- In Los Angeles, the demonstration is planned to assemble at 12 noon at Hollywood and Vine. Call 213-487-2368 for more information.

A full listing of March 20 activities will be available on the A.N.S.W.E.R. website in the next days.

Maybe the chants this time will go like this: "What do we want? A lot of things! When do we want it? The sooner the better would be just fine!"

Lets picture the raly for a moment. It will be made of up Stanlists, Communists, Marxists, Socialists, Anarchists, Anti-Globalists, Anti-Zionists, Anti-Semities, Pro-Castro, Pot Heads, the Sexual Confussed, and those who mainly show up for the beers and the babes! Naturally when we remove the thick layer of skin, the overall skelton doesn't seem to hold much water!

I don't have to picture the rally. I have video of several of their rallies.

Instead of "the long march through the institutions, it should be titled "The Long March To The Institution."

Assignment for some conservative grad student: research the post wwII Bring the Boys Home campaign. ID those well-known Americans then advocating BTBH. Enumerate riots in US Euro Army camps by members of Greatest Generation. ID communist activists in those units. Connect the dots.

From the Progressive Labor Party's website (source):
For most of the Progressive Labor Party’s existence, we have believed that working-class soldiers and sailors are among the key forces to be won to communist revolution. Rather than serving the interests of U.S. bosses in imperialist adventures, we have urged GI’s—both from inside and outside the military—to "turn the guns around," and thereby fight for their class’s interests. Some may think this is wishful thinking, that the control of U.S. rulers over the military is ironclad. However, history proves that nothing could be further from the truth.

For the last hundred years or more the weak link of modern capitalism has been the ruling class’s inability to field a reliable army. From the Spanish-American war up to the current wars in the Middle East and Yugoslavia, the world’s imperialists have faced rebellion from working class soldiers inside the ranks of capitalist armies. [...]

During WWII, the U.S. military did fight to some extent though not nearly as fiercely as the Red Armies. [... This communist -- being, like most, a nihilist at heart -- disdains the high regard the United States military showed for the lives of its soldiers, "workers" included. Only socialist armies that sent forth human waves and racked up casualties in the millions are to be respected.]

Ironically, among the most politically committed in the U.S. military were the tens of thousands of communists who volunteered. Rather than vowing to turn the guns around, they joined to fight for the U.S. as part of the united front against fascism. As soon as fascists were defeated, they were among those who organized large demonstrations of U.S. troops to "Bring the boys home," refusing to be used as tools of imperialism against other workers.

It's always interesting to note that those who supposedly strive for a classless society, constantly group everyone by class. Kinda like those who cry racism while chanting "tolerance" and "diversity". Gee, what a coincidence.

"BRING the TROOPS HOME NOW!"

These guys are always the same. They have never wanted troops anywhere for any reason. I would really like ot make them answer why-- not the gibberish they always make up fo reach instance. But really, why is it always wrong for the USA to use force to defend itself or to assert its will to its own self-interest? They are always such woolies.

Ah yes, ANSWER, those ordinary Americans who take to the streets to protest the war on terror. Yep, just your basic concerned citizens. The ones Hillary told the troops about while gobbling down their Thanksgiving meal.

Hehehe. I have some "progressive" freinds. (What can I say? I live in a college town.) I love working little digs into our conversations, like describing Bush and various "neocons" as the "real progressives," and leftists as "reactionary". I do it deadpan, but they know it's done to piss them off (and it does). Thing is, it's also true.

March 20, 2004 Hollywood and Vine

If Dean's lead softens in favor of anyone but Kucinich before March 20, the fifth column media will be in the midst of an all-out effort to de-legitimize the Dem primaries.

Adding this incitement to the media abetted Stalinist uprisings planned for that date, and the increasing stridency of far-left rhetoric in recent weeks (Al Guardian's open advocacy of the assassination of George W. Bush, for instance) leads me to suspect that large-scale lethal violence is a definite possibility.

One likely scenario is that ANSWER agitprop pros will attempt to engineer an incident in which large numbers of rioters ("protestors") are killed either by police or by threatened civilians. This could then be represented as a "massacre" and the media could be counted upon to cooperate fully in exploiting it for ANSWER's purposes. Would Stalinist devils really sacrifice a large number of dupes for a propaganda coup and media ratings? Does anyone doubt that they would?

Myth #1 - Occupation of Iraq.

We are not occupying Iraq, we are mopping up the criminals who would return this country to a dictatorship replete with torture and starvation and trying to put the country on an even keel towards law and order. It took many years to help Germany to get on her feet as well as other EU countries. What is wrong with these people, they really want terrorism to continue?

Iraqis don't want the coalition to leave, they want us to stay until they are a more stable country with law and order from their citizens. This 'Global Day of Action" has to be the work of all Marxists and other rabble-rousers who don't want democracy in any form in the Middle East, certainly Arabia, Iran, Syria, and Palestine don't want any form of a Republic or democratic leadership by the people. - theirs are countries of corrupt dictators and dynastic rulers. Democracy would diminish they powers. So what these fools are really about is more terrorism – they have gotten Billions of dollars for education here in the US and have done nothing with it to improve the quality of learning, just feathered their own beds with the money; They want to socialize medicine and bankrupt the country so they don’t have to pay a dime ............here is a little fable familiar to all of us.......

THE LITTLE RED HEN

Once upon a time, on a farm in Texas, there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few grains of wheat.

She called all of her neighbors together and said, "If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?"

"Not I," said the cow.
"Not I," said the duck.
"Not I," said the pig.
"Not I," said the goose.

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen.

And so she did. The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.

"Who will help me reap my wheat?" asked the little red hen.

"Not I," said the duck.
"Out of my classification," said the pig.
"I'd lose my seniority," said the cow.
"I'd lose my unemployment compensation," said the goose.
"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen, and so she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread. "Who will help me bake the bread?" asked the little red hen.

"That would be overtime for me," said the cow.
"I'd lose my welfare benefits," said the duck.
"I'm a dropout and never learned how," said the pig.
"If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination," said the goose.
"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see.

They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, "No, I shall eat all five loaves."

"Excess profits!" cried the cow.
"Capitalist leech!" screamed the duck.
"I demand equal rights!" yelled the goose.
The pig just grunted in disdain.
And they all painted "Unfair!" picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.

Then a government agent came, he said to the little red hen, "You must not be so greedy."

"But I earned the bread," said the little red hen.

"Exactly," said the agent. "That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle."

And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, "I am grateful, for now I truly understand."

But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the "party" and got her bread free.

And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established. Individual initiative had died but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared, as long as there was free bread.

Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs. His wife Hillary got $8 million for hers. That's $20 million for memories from two people who for eight years repeatedly testified, under oath, that they couldn't remember anything.

God Bless America!
