I believe this speaks to the question of politically motivated, selective prosecution.

Rush did commit a faux paux today. I wonder who else noticed? He was talking about the Ohio woman who was sentanced for breastfeeding her baby while driving 65mph. The Ohio woman's defense was that her religion required her to do what her husband commanded. Then Rush said something very close to: If that's a legitimate defense, if I were them, I'd tell the judge I liked peyote.
I was surprised by that comment.

From one of the articles linked above:
Federal legislation to legalize the purchase of drugs from Canada has been introduced, but the law would require the FDA to sign off on medications' authenticity before they reach consumers. The House hasn't voted on the measure.
Standing in front of a sign stating "Save on Drugs Call 1-866-Rx-CAROL," Roberts brandished a letter from Palm Beach County State Attorney and fellow Democrat Barry Krischer declaring that Florida law doesn't punish anyone for purchasing American drugs abroad, even though the practice is a violation of federal law.
http://www.biohope.org/media/article_print.cfm?articleid=2981
This is interesting. Krischer says that Florida law doesn't punish anyone for purchasing drugs abroad, but it is clearly against Florida law to do so. Or the aforementioned legislation wouldn't be necessary.
So Roberts is clearly encouraging illegal activity.
The question arises: if Limbaugh had purchased his pain medications through Carol Roberts, would he have been prosecuted by Krischer?

This certainly changes the picture.

I agree that Rush being prosecuted is probably selective prosecution. However in the end the important thing is that his life may have been saved thanks to the intervention/drug counceling that he recieved.
The war on drugs is a hinderance to the proper punishments for drug offenses. People with problems need help, and not jail time. (ie Courtney Love, Rush, Noele Bush, and on many occasions Robert Downey Jr.). The role of the government should be to help people with problems, not ship them off to jail, and make their problems worse. Thank goodness Rush has money, and influence to keep him out of jail, and back on the radio. How many families in Florida are now on welfare because a drug violation (no matter how minor) put their father or mother in jail?
I hope that Rush is better, and I hope that he is getting the help he needs. I hope he becomes a compassionate conservative, and is less judgemental to others with drug problems (wheter legal or illegal).

Mr. Limbaugh is a political prisoner in every sense.
His persecutor (no misspelling) dishonest Democrat Florida District Attorney Barry Krischer is an extreme hypocrite.

I have been a continuous fan of Rush for the last 10 years, but have to say; something isn't adding up on this Rush thing....why would a man who makes 25 million per, fool around on the "street" when he can afford to go first class medically...Rush, strikes me as man under extreme stress...the hearing problem, now this revelation.....could there be phone calls in the night, or dead cats on the front lawn???
