I agree that Rush being prosecuted is probably selective prosecution. However in the end the important thing is that his life may have been saved thanks to the intervention/drug counceling that he recieved.
The war on drugs is a hinderance to the proper punishments for drug offenses. People with problems need help, and not jail time. (ie Courtney Love, Rush, Noele Bush, and on many occasions Robert Downey Jr.). The role of the government should be to help people with problems, not ship them off to jail, and make their problems worse. Thank goodness Rush has money, and influence to keep him out of jail, and back on the radio. How many families in Florida are now on welfare because a drug violation (no matter how minor) put their father or mother in jail?
I hope that Rush is better, and I hope that he is getting the help he needs. I hope he becomes a compassionate conservative, and is less judgemental to others with drug problems (wheter legal or illegal).

Mr. "Bush's ties to the taleban" on another thread, who signed up today to grace us with your pearl's.
I suppose it's too much to ask you to document your baseless claim that Rush has been judgmental to those with drug problems. And spare me the one and only quote from 1995 that is the only thing the libs have found to wield in the lie that Rush has been on an anti-drug crusade whilst becoming addicted to prescription pain meds.

The role of the government should be to help people with problems, not ship them off to jail, and make their problems worse. Everyone has problems. The poor inner city child who joins a gang and then kills 3 people has problems. I'm sure the thief who steals cars has "problems". So exactly WHO would go to jail?
