Democrats from Bill Clinton to Howard Dean have complained that conservative talk radio hosts Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly have grown too powerful. Now an effort has begun to drive one of them off the air, according to the manager of a station that carries Hannity's show in New Mexico.
Bob Clark, station manager of KRSN in Los Alamos, described to Hannity on Tuesday a series of threatening phone calls to his station and its advertisers that were part of a bid to get Clark to drop the top-rated talker's broadcast.
Clark said it began with a call two weeks ago from someone who complained about the "right-wing drivel" he aired. The caller said he was preparing a list of KRSN's sponsors, adding that he intended to contact them in a bid "to convince them to stop advertising with us until we took the show off the air."
"I got a call a week later from one of my good advertisers," said Clark. The sponsor said that he'd been contacted by an organizer of the boycott.
Recounting the conversation, Clark told Hannity, "What they said was that they represented the Democratic Party, that there were 4,600 members in this area and that they had discussed initiating this boycott of your sponsors to get you off the air."
The KRSN manager said his advertiser, who's also a personal friend, "was quite concerned" about the boycott threat.
The chairman of the Los Alamos Democratic Party appeared on KRSN Tuesday morning and denied any "official participation" in the boycott, saying the action was news to him.

If we knew who the advertiser was, I'd suggest spreading the word to anyone in the area who is in the market for what the advertiser sells, to buy the advertiser's products, making sure to let them know that the purchase is a direct result of their sponsorship of Hannity's (or Rush's, etc.) program.

Conservative/FreeRepublic anti-boycott?

As I type Hannity is on his show saying the dems are taping his every word, investigating him or trying to somehow trip him up. I think Hannity has enough support from his millions of fans to overcome these dems who attempt to place roadblocks in his meteoric rise to success!

I'm willing to wager that people who like Hannity have a lot more money than people who hate him...

I wonder if the Limbaugh story is the result of a similar investigation. It did appear in the National Enquirer.

When he Talked to Ted Kennedy over the phone he made an enemy who i predicted would retaliate. This might be some of that retaliation. I doubht the big dummy forgot he sounded like a complete arrogant fool.
I support Hannity.

Sean just mentioned how a Democrat confidant phoned him and told him about a group of Dems who are watching his every move. With what has happened with Bennett and Rush, I think it's obvious that the libs are playing a dangerous game of hardball. Ed Asners' threat appears to have been real and I wouldn't doubt it if the guys at IGI are following Hannity's every move. With the recent Bush-Bash, George Soros' influx of hard cash and liberal attempts to buy radio stations, I'd say we're in for a war.

As I type Hannity is on his show saying the dems are taping his every word, investigating him or trying to somehow trip him up. Since Rush got in trouble with the drugs .. the left has been saying that Hannity was next
I believe they said they are going to go after Ann Coulter also
BTW ... how is the Left's talk radio station coming along

Can we get a list of the advertisers posted here on FR? I'm sure we'd all support the national companies and that there are enough local folks to support the mom-and-pop enterprises in the area. Let's let them know that we'll stand by our man Hannity and their products, but if they stop supporting the station over this, we'll stop buying (a "reverse boycott").

Remember the NAG boycott of Florida orange juice when Rush was the spokesman. At every store where they would demonstrate listeners converged and bought out the oj stock.

If people will recall, when Rush Limbaugh had his problem with the drug addiction being revealed, Ed Asner told Mike Gallagher (?) that next they were going after Hannity. There was a thread on this forum about this after Hannity revealed this on the air.
So to those of you who for some reason yell "tin foil" every time something like this is posted, it is real, and they mean business. They have been complaining about "right wing" media for months now. Where have you all been? (not directed to you Kattracks!)

I wish more of us would call the advertisers who support NPR/PBS. Tell 'em we aren't gonna buy the products if they continue to fund that left wing drivel.
