How about Baghdad Bob as his replacement?--provide he isn't working for the Hillary for President Committee.
To: hotpotato
Doesn't matter. Their generation will have their very own "Rather anchor" that can haunt them for decades. You can bet on it.
Hey... At least we have Brit Hume!

Sounds like a similar promise, Alec Baldwin made before the 2000 election. Now that you mention it [2000 election], Gunga did say that that was going to be his last election broadcast. Or maybe he said it in reference to one of the conventions. The sooner the better, in any case. (I don't know why I feel this way, since I gave up both on him and CBS a while ago. Couldn't care less.)

Boy, is his viewer going to be upset. Uh, I think he died last year.

his "Ratherisms" are priceless. Yeah, on par with those priceless thimbles from the Franklin Mint.
To: Timesink
I suspect that they will be replacing him with John Roberts - just another Bush-hater.

Danny boy ended his anchor run long ago.
When he sold his soul to democrat liberalism.

He's going to work for Hitlery's campaign...
To: Timesink
Big deal. There's plenty of liberal "journalists" walking around NYC that would sell what's left of their soul to take Rather's place.
Cronkite vacated the post and CBS installed Rather.

When JFK was shot, Dan was the New Orleans bureau chief for the CBS station in Dallas. So why did he come back to Dallas -- for the saturation coverage? Had he stayed in New Orleans, he would have missed his big break. I wonder if he ever pondered how his career was intertwined with the assassination of one of his heroes.
To: Timesink
Dan will have more time to hang with his buddy's...

Is Dan Rather still on T.V.? sources are telling me that CBS execs are raw about losses of viewers and ratings and that they want an upgrade to a less "post vietnam generation meets castro civil rights" approach.
