A Bad Day at DU (Rolling on the Floor Laughing at the Poor DU'ers...) (OK'd by Jim)
DUH ^

Posted on 11/27/2003 8:31:43 PM PST by Skwidd

Boy, Thanksgiving sure was a bad day at DU.

A thread about Bush's visit to Iraq

Another thread about Bush's visit to Iraq

A thread about Toby Keith's Halftime Show

Just for reference, so we know what kind of people we're dealing with, a poll conducted on DU

Another DU poll

I'm not sure if linking to DU threads is frowned upon or not, but these threads are too good to not share with my fellow Freepers. Comedy gold!

"Happy Thanksgiving, Jim said let it stay. Have fun"

My thanks to Jim. I have never gone over to "the other side" before. It was the most fun I've had since the election. (You figure out which one.)

A DU poster is a member of the Activist Base. He has to believe that Most Americans think as he does. He's invested much of his adult life in the pursuit of his political convictions and the righteousness of his cause. If, as I suspect, the nation is trending Republican, then our DU friend might be forced to question his First Principles.

Both of my sons (20 and 18) watched the President on Fox and were just as awed as I was. My older son went on over to DU to see what was up there. He couldn't understand the venom these guys were spewing, and how they were making things up to try to make this look bad.

I just told him that they had to, because if they didn't, they would have to admit they were wrong. And that would destroy them.

Those morons at DU actually seem to think that everyone on FR is male. Good grief!

Last time I went there it had a hugh urge to take a long, hot shower. Don't laugh - I'm series.... :)

I can't go over there today; I'm at work and we have no shower facilities in this building.

I just took a peek at the Toby Keith thread, didn't read any comments, just the list and there's a lot of deleted posts on that one. Are those FReeper comments that have been pulled, or did they get too profane and mentally disturbed even for the rats?

Sen. Clinton to spend Thanksgiving with troops in Afghanistan, visit Iraq

They start off so jubilant... then news comes of Bush's visit.

Thanks for the laughs, its fun to watch anti-America libs that are to the left of Stalin, in other words, Dean supporters, marginalize themselves out of existence!

I know you shouldn't lurk at the DU but its like slowing down to look at a car wreck, you know you shouldn't do it but its so hard to resist!

My first and last trip to the DU. Their limited vocabularies are are matched only by their intellects. And they accuse us of hate.

"The PR move on * going to Iraq is going to backfire on him.. Repeatedly endlessly, and with the Mission Accomplished flop, it'll even damage his presidential ambitions and see his polls and re-elect numbers drop to single digits before November."

Geez, the overt hatred for the military folks on DU is amazing.

It amazes me even more when some of them claim they were in the military at one point or another. I don't doubt that some of them were at one point or another, but their platoon sergeants must have given them a really bad time while they were in for them to carry over such hatred.

Apparently Congress was informed of Bush's planned trip, and sworn to secrecy. Dreyer said that last night on Hannity and Colmes, I believe. And, if that is true, then Hillary planned her trip accordingly, too? I don't know how all of that worked out. But yes, Bush stole Hillary's thunder.

The race for 2004 has begun, and Bush is playing hardball. Good for him.

I just love this comment:

He tried to overshadow Hillary but that's impossible.

Don't her staffers have to clear the hallways when QueenBeast sashays by?

Actually, that's because she's such a freakin' wide load, and getting wider by the day. She actually had *two* Thanksgiving dinners in Afghanistan! And you *know* she didn't each just a little at each, to equal one meal overall.

These people give arrogant stupidity a bad name.

It seems highly appropriate that the party symbol is a jackass.
