Apparently Congress was informed of Bush's planned trip, and sworn to secrecy. Dreyer said that last night on Hannity and Colmes, I believe. And, if that is true, then Hillary planned her trip accordingly, too? I don't know how all of that worked out. But yes, Bush stole Hillary's thunder.

The race for 2004 has begun, and Bush is playing hardball. Good for him.

I actually heard Allen Colmes praise Bush for making the trip, saying it was good for the troops. It looked painful for him, but at least for the moment he was honest.
