A Bad Day at DU (Rolling on the Floor Laughing at the Poor DU'ers...) (OK'd by Jim)

Boy, Thanksgiving sure was a bad day at DU.
A thread about Bush's visit to Iraq
Another thread about Bush's visit to Iraq
A thread about Toby Keith's Halftime Show
Just for reference, so we know what kind of people we're dealing with, a poll conducted on DU
Another DU poll
I'm not sure if linking to DU threads is frowned upon or not, but these threads are too good to not share with my fellow Freepers. Comedy gold!

It is a characteristic of the romantic past of twentieth century socialism that almost all of the Believers were convinced that the Masses were with them, or were on the verge of being with them.
A DU poster is a member of the Activist Base. He has to believe that Most Americans think as he does. He's invested much of his adult life in the pursuit of his political convictions and the righteousness of his cause. If, as I suspect, the nation is trending Republican, then our DU friend might be forced to question his First Principles.
Neither Democrats nor Republicans are fond of questioning their First Principles. A lot of one's ego is tied up in them.
Thus, a morale boosting trip taken by the President becomes, in his mind, a craven photo-opportunity of an usurper who doesn't deserve to command these men. I've seen lefties. I have one in my family. They are sincere in their convictions and in their hate.
Unfortunately for them, hate is what they have to offer the most of right now. Bush has successfully stolen a march around their flanks on education and prescription drugs, grown the economy, prosecuted the war against Al Qaeda, and successfully deposed Saddam Hussein. The DU crowd, along with the larger party and their outriders in the major media, don't have much left to offer.
Arnold's election was a preview of what is to come. The groping disclosures should have killed his campaign. They didn't, and Arnie understood that they wouldn't, because he was offering something, while the Democrats offered the Same Old Thing. Bush is in the same position, only without the skeletons in the closet.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

It's a shame the Thanksgiving of so many DUers was obviously ruined.I hope they choked on every single bite of organic soybean robo-turkey (or whatever the hell it is those soap-challenged granola eaters have on Thanksgiving).
Hee hee - it's midnight here, and I'm still grinning like an idiot thinking about this.

All I saw was a display of patriotism and a showing and celebration of the flag and freedom. Looked like people having a great time in the good ol' U.S. of A.
Where do you get right wing out of anything that went on there?
This guy incensed them. They are so dense I'm surprised even light can escape. They make it so so easy. The visceral hatred of anything smacking of Patriotism is overpowering.

I know, the funny thing is, they think Hillary legitimately is visiting Afghanistan but Bush is doing a photo op!
Hello, the Commander in Chief of the troops is SUPPOSED to visit them. But what the heck is Hillary doing there?
And the troops hate Hillary - the Clintons have a very bad name among the military. It's amazing the DU'er are in total denial about this. Remember the booing VH1 had to remove from the DVD of Hillary greeting the firemen and policemen? They know the Clintons dropped the ball on terrorism, big time.
That's why the Democrats did their best to disqualify all the military votes they could in Florida.

Your links have but scratched the surface too. They're totally vanity oriented over there, and seems like each and every childmind had to start a thread of it's own.
Kudos to whoever made this famous image, now provided as a public service. Consider it akin to mood music.

I went over there earlier after someone at another forum told me to check. It really was a good laugh!!!
I'm still joyed at the expression on our troops faces during our Presidents visit. They look as happy as when they step of a plane returning home to the US. You just can't wipe the smile off! They really do appreciate and need the support.

Except I don't think it's the kind she was hoping for .. the Troops don't look really thrilled she is there

Don't forget that the DU posters suffer from the "echo chamber" effect. EVERYONE they know, everything they see and read from NPR to the NY Slimes, confirms their psychosis.

Maybe they were told not to speak. Don't her staffers have to clear the hallways when QueenBeast sashays by?

Bookmarked.
I love reading our DU threads. They're sooo funny, and revealing. And they make great ammunition to use when other boards say I'm lying when I speak of hatred for Bush from the librats.
Those snivelling losers (all five of them) are the best examples of liberal democrat insanity one could hope for.

The trip should be a Mastercard moment. Priceless!
Worth every minute of it for our soldiers on the frontline.

Have fun, but please, watch the language, it's a gutter over there. That's why I'm grateful to those Freepers that bring back redacted news from DU. I once went there on the suggestion of a Freeper, and I just felt so very disgusted by the experience, almost felt the need to reformat my hard drive!

Speaking of rats, wasn't it a democrat that made a big stink about a campaign ad that stayed on the word "rat" too long?
These folks should get tired of shooting themselves in the foot.

This one is too bizarre ..
He looks like he is reacting to her. He can't make judgment about a "photo-op." She looks like she is reaching out and touching base with the troops and in light of his visit she looks more genuine - aftger all she is actually spending time there. She "wins" on all counts because Bush is now behind in his own game - even though Hillary isn't playing. Go DEMS - even if the soldiers hate you they can't KILL you (well they can, but they won't) and because of that you can reach them, demonstrate your commitment listen to their concerns and throw it back in Bush's face. We should draft prominent Democrats to spend at least a day in Iraq every day until the election (pie in the sky!). Maybe its the Thanksgiving spirit, but I can't hate Bush today

I glanced through a couple of those threads, but I got so sickened I had to quit. What a bunch of revolting, stomach-turning traitors. They really are insane with hatred for America, aren't they?
To: pcx99
Exactly.
A year from now these same people will be strapping dynamite to their waists and boarding busses for the red states.
Sick, sad, pathetic,it must suck to hate your own country.
