President Bush made a surprise visit to our troops in Iraq today, he arrived on Airforce One at Baghdad International Airport just after dark and surprised some 600 soldiers before being served a full course traditional Thanksgiving meal. President Bush was greeted with a thunderous applause from the surprised troops that clearly touched the Commander-in-Chief

I sure did, I probably should have given you the honor of posting it tonight. I owe you that respect for the incredible effort you have made these last three years.
I'm sorry I didn't, but only a little :-)
President Bush said something in his speech to the troops and the world that I really appreciated.
he said: "You and I have taken an oathe to defend this country"
Those words mean a lot coming from a leader, it lets the troops know that he is there with them and it has to be re-assuring that they know job is to protect them as well by making sure they have all they need, including his williness to spend his Thanksgiving Day with them.
George W. Bush knocked it out of the Park today

I heard the initial report on this on Fox just before we left for my brother's house to have dinner. (He is a democrat....heheheh.) Let's just say this...no one bothered me about my political affiliation. :-)
I am so proud of President Bush! AND, I have not forgotten that you had this idea for him to visit several months ago! You are very astute!
What a Thanksgiving! God bless our military, and God bless President Bush!

Ten bucks says the 'whiney-nine' candidates will be all over Sunday shows this weekend calling this a publicity stunt, equating it to the aircraft carrier landing.

I have never been prouder of this President! What he did for our troops was the most unselfish act imaginable! He was in clear danger himself, yet he thought thanking them was more important. How many other President's have we had who would do that? He could have been at the ranch with his family eating Turkey and all the trimmings, yet he got on a plane and flew to Iraq to surprise our brave men and women on Thanksgiving! What a guy!

The Nutty Nine can try and trash this visit to the troops all they want, This was done on Thanksgiving Day when the entire country is home spending the day with their families and they saw our Commander-in-Chief greet the troops and never mention anything about himself or his campaign. He spoke ONLY about the troops and how much we support them.
Today President Bush soared with the Eagles

The only reason why I'm watching CNN is because FOX is back covering the Lacy peterson case. I sure wish they would stop beating this, and the Michael Jackson story, like a dead Horse

Campaign commercial:
No speaking. Background music "Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copeland.
Shots of President Bush greeting the troops at various bases. Flight suit shot. Shots from Baghdad. As music swells, Chiron says "George W, Bush, Commander-in-Chief."
That's all that needs to be said, IMHO.

Bruce Morton just reported on Bush's secret trip to Baghdad, and it was titled "True Lies"
Earlier today someone here on FR was joking that the headlines will read "Bush Lied! he didn't spend Thanksgiving at the Ranch"

CNN reporterette to presidential historian Douglas Brinkley: "Wasn't it very risky for the president to do something so risky?"
Just struck me as funny.

Same here. And, Greta, it is NOT great TV and people do NOT love it! Watching CNN analysts moan and twitch over today's news is very entertaining. Greta, that horse IS dead, dead! quit beating it!

We are a year away from the election, by that time the economy will be sky rocketing, Iraq will be much safer, the Democrats will have picked their sacrificial lamb and the landslide will be inevitable
