Dean Leading in Latest PollDes Moines, November 21, 2003 - On a day in Des Moines that feels much like it probably will on Caucus day in January, the winds of change have blown again in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. In July, our Survey USA Poll showed Iowans gave Dick Gephardt a sizeable lead in the caucus night contest. Two months later, Howard Dean squeezed in to tie Gephardt. In October, Gephardt pushed Dean back to regain the lead. But now, the biggest change yet. Our newest poll shows Dean with a comfortable 10 percentage-point lead over Gephardt. John Kerry continues to hold the third spot. The second tier has John Edwards holding in fourth. The rest of the candidates have very little support. The bottom five lag in the low single digits. We then asked you to choose only from the four highest scoring candidates. Dean stays at the top. Gephardt closes the gap to five points behind him. Kerry improves the most to cut into Dean's lead over him. Edwards also moves up on the leader. Two months left until the big night in January--Will the winds of change blow again?
