And, for 83 years of age, the Queen seems pretty "spry!"She's 77, but she does look very good for her years. Remember the Queen Mum, who broke her leg at age 98 or 99 as I recall, and was back in high heels(!), walking with a cane, at 100. Must be the genes.
Didn't Laura commit a minor faux pas by offering a gloved hand to the Queen? Not enough to worry about, and QE2 didn't seem offended, so no worries. And the pics sure seemed to demonstrate genuine respect between the Bushes and the royals.

Looking back, I know what bothered me about Laura's brown suit; it looked ITCHY!!! I hate itchy clothes. But objectively, as so many pointed out, it was neat that it was made out of "native" fabric, to compliment the English style. It really did look good on her, and she looked completely comfortable in it so it must not have been bad.

He sure looks serious and worried, after more of the 'fun' pictures of the last few days. Could be jet lag, too, I guess. There sure are a lot of stresses all over the world today, and getting to be more and more every day.

Well, Laura is a lovely woman and she always looks wonderful but I agree, some designs do not do as much for her as others. I read an interview during the campaign or the transition with the designer she favored at that time, perhaps still does. He was in Texas and worked on all her inaugural clothes. He said she is decisive, that she definately knew what she liked and didn't like. So often it is a simple design element or a small tailoring detail that makes a huge difference. Of course, style isn't the only consideration when putting together her wardrobe and she does look fabulous.

That Mrs. Bush is quite lovely, isn't she. She beats Jackie Kennedy all to snot.

The Queen looks so happy.....I think she really is smitten with our President. Laura looks lovely as always....what a combination of beauty & class!
What happened to Cheri Blair?....She was using a cane.

I'm glad to see that firm grip, so many Europeans and some Brits have that limp dishcloth handshake. LOL.

just the boring but tried and true eat less, exercise more? Bingo. Actually, "reasonable portions" is how I try to view it. And it gets easier as time goes on....bigger portions actually become too filling. And yes, increased activity which isn't a bad thing either, for many reasons. Thanks for the encouragement folks.

Thank you, Michael for this LUVELY Dose!!
I'm here for just a moment since the party girls are out for a little while.....
And, of course, it would be ME who points out that it looks like Laura is giving her husband a little pat like the ones he so often gave her before he started restraining himself in public. ;o)
Kinda cute, IMO!

I love this one (and the ones where he's throwing the soccer ball.....I mean football....to the kids)! Does everyone know that George W. played rugby at Yale?
Got a picture to prove it, if you want to see it!

Well, I've never had either one of those two but one of them does not sound very appealing and I don't even wanna know how you came to have an opinion about the other. LOL.

I am trying to go back again to the pictures and read the description, but for some reason it is loading slow. It's something about the comments the reporters made regarding the energy vote today.
