A new bombshell revelation in the Kobe Bryant case threatens to destroy the credibility of the prosecutions key witness - whose testimony could send the basketball superstar to jail for years. Sources told GLOBE that the 19-year-old woman who has accused Bryant of rape told them she had sex with the prosecutions star witness Bobby Pietrack - a week before she met Bryant.
Pietrack, a 23-year-old bellhop at the resort where the alleged rape took place, is the first person Katelyn Faber told about her encounter with Bryant. He can testify about her emotional state and physical appearance at the time.
But legal experts tell us that if there was a sexual encounter between Katelyn and the bellhop, it could wreck his credibility and sink the case of the Eagle County, Colo., prosecutor.
For all the details of this blockbuster story, pick up the new issue of GLOBE.

So much for the press keeping her identify secret huh?? I can't imagine how she could have kept her identity secret in the first place.

Grabbing at straws in defence of your idol aren't you George? Do you really believe that a woman bleeds like a stuck hog after a couple of sexual encounters within a short period of time? You really need to get out of that Monestary and learn a few facts. If your theory about females were true, few would survive the honeymoon, much less child birth.
Gals aren't near as fragile as they look.

Sworn testimony is considered evidence. Its a fundamental rule of law.

Okay, one last time, just to make sure I understand your position...
If Kobe Bryant had indisputable proof that his accuser had sex with a horse that morning, you would not only exclude that evidence as irrelevant, but think that's only fair, correct?

Does he? I doubt he does.

bleeds like a stuck hog Wow? Where is that testimony? I read the blood on his t-shirt was so small that they missed it the first time they examined it. Maybe you care to provide a link to the bleeding like a stuck hog testimony.

Why can't women who bring rape charges, have the privilige of being considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt Hey, go ahead and amend the Constitution to require such. Until then, that's how things work. Because if she is considered to be innocent, that means that by default Kobe's guilty until proven innocent, which is the opposite of what is mandated by the Constitution.
And, FWIW, I generally despise professional basketball and think Kobe's a damn ballhog and a prima donna, so I'm not in the "jockstrap sniffing" brigade. I simply think that an allegation of rape is a serious thing and the standard of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt is critical here, because we're talking about twenty years of a man's life.

It's a hypothetical. Please answer the question.

If its hypothetical why would I answer?

So a promiscous woman can't be raped?
If her sexual history is relevant, then so is the fact that Kobe Bryant is married, and hence is at minimum guilty of adultery. Even more relevant is the fact that Bryant denied any sexual contact with her, then he contradicted himself and said he committed adultery with her. So he has already been caught in a lie once. He used the Bill Clinton formula almost exactly. (just minus the finger wagging) Many people who exorciated Bill Clinton, are excusing Kobe Bryant forexactly the same thing. I think many Freepers OWE BILL CLINTON A BIG APOLOGY!

Rape is the most falsely filed crime in the US...Quite true. It was also, at the time of my Criminal Justice course way back in 1986 (so take it for what it's worth), by far the most successfully prosecuted crime. The rate of guilty verdicts was something on the order of %70-%80, whereas other crimes (murder, etc) were found guilty about %35 of the time.
The above numbers are approximate because I am attempting to recall them from so long ago and they were current only as of 1986, but you get the idea. While pouring over the data, I decided that if I was ever the victim of a false rape accusation, it would just be better to plead guilty and save the lawyer fee.

Congratulations. That was the biggest logical leap I've seen all week on FR. You're sounding just like the Clinton defenders who said it was about private sex when it was about perjury. Conversely, Kobe is not charged with adultery. He is charged with rape. He has admitted to the adultery already, unlike Clinton who lied to the American people for eight months. And, under the Constitution, he must be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. From what I've seen, there is ample doubt so far regarding whether this was rape or consensual sex.

Do you really believe that a woman bleeds like a stuck hog after a couple of sexual encounters within a short period of time? I had a girlfriend who always bled after sex, so I know for a fact that consensual sex can lead to bleeding.
But that's not the main point here; the main issue is reasonable doubt about whether her small injuries were caused by Kobe or some of the other men she had sex with a few days or hours before going to Kobe's room.
Maybe the bellman made her 'bleed like a stuck hog' and she's blaming the wrong man, the man with money.
The fact that she went to Kobe's room "to make out" with a married man, breaking hotel policy, leads to me to have reasonable doubt about her accusations. She was too interested in being intimate with Kobe, probably to set him up.
I used to believe her, but no more.

Didn't we read somewhere that the DA had asked two other males for their DNA and they refused?
To: Carolinamom
It was reported to the Vail Daily I believe. I already mentioned earlier this thread.

Maybe I exaggerated just a little there, but nothing compared to those who would give Kobe a pass.
