A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 11.20.03
Yahoo.com | 11-20-03 | ohioWfan

Posted on 11/20/2003 12:54:41 PM PST by ohioWfan

The President had a busy day in London today, with a visit with Laura to Westminster Abbey, and a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, a meeting at 10 Downing Street with Tony and Cherie Blair, a joint press conference with the two strongest leaders in the world, and a visit to a London school for a Shakespearian production by the children for the First Ladies, and a tour of the Faberge items at the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

There are more than a hundred photos out there today, and even with culling a bit, I will be posting many!

Enjoy your (massive) Daily Dose of Dubya!!

Hey, looky what I found? My he looks so dashing! And check out Laura...she seems to be admiring him!

One question though...why is it that the queen does not look terribly happy in these pictures. I haven't finished the thread so I hope she perks up a bit.

I've decided that Laura REALLY likes looking at her husband........ya think?

I don't think the Queen was unhappy here......just serious.

The pictures from today are the smiliest I've ever seen her look. Our W has enchanted her!

I thoughtI heard he was from an outfit called ITN - not sure. ITN misreported the situation in Bosnia.

I would really like to know what "news" organzation he was from and his name as well.

The reporters name is Nick Robinson, but I wouldn't let them get your knickers all in a twist. They are making fools of themselves and with each pasing day they are seeing many of their followers turning away from such blind hatred for a man that is doing his best to defend all of us and the world.

Yesterday I listened to George W. Bush's speech on C_Span and the second caller after the speech to express his opinion was on the line for those who disagree with President Bush. His basically said that he has held a deep hatred for President Bush and disagreed with the war in Iraq, but he said that he was humbled by the Presidents speech and is reconsidering his opinion of the President. He said that president Bush spoke of all the values we stand for and he couldn't help feeling proud to be an American.

Some people can be reached, and some can't, but most Americans understand what it means to be free and when all the dust clears, the world will see GWB made the right decision and the left will be eating crow as usual.

So let them continue, we're gonna win this one easy

This is an amazing thread. So full of joy! Thank you so much for all of your work, what a marvelous set of photos.

My favorites are #1-when Tony, Claire, Laura and GW were all turned around, ready to go into 10 Downing Street, with their arms are braced in one way or the other upon another. Just, I dunno, real and reassuring.

#2-The queen, animatedly speaking with our President, Laura and Philip in the backdrop. Never have I seen the Queen of England look so beautiful, and never have I seen exactly how gracious and wonderful her smile can be.

#3-timeout's picture of Laura and the President leaving 10 Downing Street. Just sensational.

I remember well how hillary could not go deep enough to dress appropriately when in England serving us as First Lady (always hard to place that title, even in retrospect, upon that horror of a human being who held up the 'Bush Knew' headline in the well of our senate, what a disgrace. She had not even helped her own daughter to dress appropriately for the nation she was visiting. Such crass defiance. Immature and cold.

Laura has dressed appropriately, quietly permitting the hosts to shine, and gracefully demonstrating truly genteel manners.

Her gown at the State Dinner was so elegant and rich in color without broadcasting glitz or 'look at me' crap. What I noticed was how flattering dangle earrings are to this wonderful woman. And her necklace that night-WOW!

But the pics of the queen at the reciprocal dinner-can't get over um! Not used to seeing her without a hate, with such a warm smile and such a sparkle in her eyes. I think she may be fun!

And as for the chef who prepared a luncheon for Laura---in that pic you posted---Laura looks like Nancy Reagan in profile. Weird.

Just a great big thanks for a great dose!!!!! XXXOOO

The Secret Service agents on the President's detail (and the First Lady's, for that matter) are usually cycled out after two years. It is intensive work - lots of travel, time away from families, and of course, the pace of today's world and the constant threats to the President.

I have seen some of the previous SS agents in pictures taken in the White House when dignataries are visiting. I'm sure that that job is a less-intensive position.

I thought you'd want to know.

That's a great link, Thank You very much.

I spend a lot of time on the road each day going back and forth to work and I have recently been listening to audio books. I just finished listening to the Audio Book "Dutch" by Edmund Morris and it was great. Edmund Morris is the orator and his English accent makes the 6 hours of recordings very easy on the ears. Listening to him deliver the Biography of Ronald Reagan made me feel I was in the room with him. If you ever get the chance to listen to "Dutch" by Edmund Morris, do it. It's a terrific experience

Baghdad Sheraton hit by RPG

Apparently both the Sheraton and the Palestine Hotels have been hit .... not devastating hits but some injuries being reported.

Mike ~~~ is your brother still over there? Continuing to pray for him, just in case.

LOL, I'm not sure what's on the Prez's agenda, but I hope I will get the opportunity to post a whole bunch of pics. I use a simple html format I came up with for the "Dose". All I do is fill in the pic properties in between the quotation marks and copy and paste the "Quote of the Day" to the format and then write my own description of the Presidents day. I open a seperate window for the source of the pics and copy the web addy from the properties and drag it to the other window. It makes the process quite easy

Wow! I do so agree! But I was just thinking that I'm not sure they realize what a noble, outstanding role they have cut for themselves in history.

It's 9:26 in San Diego, and I'm watching a replay of the joint press conference. Awesome!

ohioWfan: these pictures are just outstanding. Thank you so much for all the hard work. What was the formal event tonight. I have not seen one picture of it on the news. And .. it's not scheduled on C-SPAN.

They are in England after all .. I believe the PM has the right to speak more if necessary.

I'm watching it now .. and Tony is just awesome (of course I think GW is too, but I don't get to hear Tony every day) and I enjoy hearing someone who is saying the same things as GW. Heaven knows that hardly ever happens in the USA lately.

My brother is not in Baghdad anymore, he is in the south working with some of the locals leaders coordinating the introduction of the newly trained Iraqi Security forces. He tells me that all is going quite well. he said they're most concerned with vehicles that might be used as car bombs or carrying IED's.

Apparently it's easy for the Shi'ites in the south to recognize what they call "Takriti's" (Saddam Loyalist or Ba'athist)

He tells me that the training mission is near completion and he's not sure how much longer he will be there. But I have to explain someting to you. I told him that I added his name to a prayer list here at Free Republic and he got upset with me. He said he is being paid very well for his work in Iraq and if any prayers are needed they're not to be wasted on him, he said pray for the real heroes, "Our Troops" He said they are doing a fabulous job and he has tremendous respect for them and would hate to think that one less prayer would be said for our soldiers who are in harms way by order from their Commander-in-Chief

I'm finally getting around to enjoying the Dose tonight .... what a fantastic gallery of pictures! Thank you so very much for all your hard work. Maybe y'all should have tag-teamed on the Dose tonight ... LOL!

Have just gotten to the pics of the Queen in that lovely blue gown. I don't think I have ever seen her hatless. I've always assumed that she wears a hat in lieu of a crown except for those occasions where a crown of some sort (such as the one last night) is actually appropriate. I figured it was some sort of protocol that she would always have some type of head gear on.
