I don't mind it.. the point was clear. This is not the King's english 101. Why don't you take your fight someplace else? This is not the proper place.

The
dictionary lists "disrespect" as both a noun and a transitive verb.
To: dwd1
I guess you can show someone love, but you can't love them.... Sure you can. You cannot however "dislove" them. ;-)

Ditto everything you said.
Having just read Mona Charen's excellent book Useful Idiots, I can see the Rats actions are not new, however. They have truly never met a dictator they didn't like and have continually bashed America first. It's a very good read from a historical context.

I think that indeed there are alot of countries that need their population thinned down. But I would sure hate an all out World War, we might not make it through it as a species.

Doubt it came from the ghetto as most of them don't know the word disrespect.Actually the odds are that the word "diss" did originate in the ghetto. One thing that blacks regularly talk about, and this includes black athletes, is respect. I've many times heard black gang members explain that they had shot a person because "he disrespected me".

I wonder what these same @ssholes will be saying if and when some bio agent starts melting people in the streets...."
Something along the order of, "Arrrgh, screeeee, shrieeeek, help me help me help me, why doesn't someone help me?"
Same sorta bunch who tried to disrupt our Support the President rallies earlier this year.

Are you saying this word was the invention of Bill Cosby? The year 1986 would be about right.
To: Skip Ripley
I think Gray Davis would agree...

Now puppage, what is your point with that cartoon? Don't be so passive agressive. If you have a point, make it. If you don't, then cut your losses.
I never saw a notice that all posts here need to be cleared through you for proper British use of the English lanuage.

Well, numerically speaking, the odds are against them having new and fresh ideas because of the tendency to concentrate and centralize authority... Doesn't bring forth or promote the "outside the box (or beltway) thinking" that is where fresh ideas tend to come from... I think of the movie "The American President" where someon is so busy trying to keep their job, they forget to do their job....
And it is not that they do not have ideas... There is a greater problem in where some of the ideas come from.... I am speaking of left field...
It is like chess... Who holds the center... Swing voters are going to have to be very unhappy to have to go back to the left for new ideas...

Are we going to have the lies, damned lies, and statistics discussion now?
Until the people protesting are the wives, mothers, or family members of those in Iraq or soccer moms who no longer feel safe in their community, I would not worry...
One could argue that the Spin Cycle never ends...
I was thinking of LBJ where he stated "If I walked on water, the press would emphasize in their reports, 'The President can't swim!'"

Who's name-calling? You passed judgment on the original poster based on your narrow little view of what is proper language and what isn't.
I just called you on it.
If you can't handle that, think twice before you lay into someone.

If you have a point, make it.By using "words" such as dis, ain't, etc. makes one sound stupid,. THAT'S my point. Whether these "words" are found in a dictionary or not.
I never saw a notice that all posts here need to be cleared through you for proper British use of the English lanuage
Nor did I.That's the WHOLE POINT of FR, to voice your OPINONS, and observations.
If you don't, then cut your losses.
Gee, I guess I didn't notice that YOU were the one to decide when a debate was COMPLETE. Forgive me, all knowing one.
