A search warrant has been executed at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch.

It is being reported that this warrant has something to do with Jackson's relationships with children.

No matter what evidence they find, Michael will never be convicted in a criminal court.

I don't believe that. If there is enough evidence, including a child's testimony, sadly, then he can and will be convicted. His personal problems do NOT excuse him from molesting children. Have you heard the adults crying when they tell of the shame and horror at having been abused by people they trusted in their childhoods? Juries are not going to be fooled by neighbor "character witnesses."

Not long ago there was a fellow on several related internet communities, respectable sites all...He was much admired by everyone. Philosophical, poor-but-honorable, full of wisdom and sound advice. Single parent of a young daughter, under 12. The very last person you'd expect to go to prison for kiddie porn production, but that he did.
I don't trust the motives, the inclinations, the righteous protests of innocence, of any man who regularly sleeps with a child. If that makes me a dirty-minded prude, so be it.

I know. I don't have a problem with understanding motivation -- I think it's important to ask the questions. My sister, like many liberals, has this upside-down view of the world, where predators are victims, and true victims aren't victims at all. I suppose she gets some payoff for feeling that way. Maybe it gives her a sense that she's more compassionate than we 'hard-hearted conservatives' are.

Compassion isn't the domain of liberals alone -- we just have a more reality-based defintion of compassion. Having compassion without any real sense of right or wrong is an open invitation to be taken advantage of.

I am reminded of the story of a British Naval Commander who was well known for his courtesy and his respect shown to those he engaged in battle... After a successful confrontation, the enemy commander was brought to him... The enemy commander offered his hand like they were old friends..... I'm just trying to figure out the underlying reason that explains why you are so adamant that you weren't wrong to imply that someone was sexually abused.

Most people would eventually have realized that they crossed the decency line and would have just apologized and moved on.
