FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK LAUNCHES WEB SITE ON SENATE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE MEMO, CALLS FOR SENATOR ROCKEFELLER TO RESIGN
(Washington, DC) The Free Republic Network today announced the unveiling of www.intelmemo.com, a new web site that provides news, analysis and research material regarding the plans by partisan Democrats on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to use sensitive intelligence data for political attacks against the Bush Administration, as outlined in a recently revealed internal memo. The Network also called for the immediate resignation of the Committees Vice Chairman, Senator Jay Rockefeller. Executive Director Robert Hahn released the following statement:
The members of the Senate Intelligence Committee have access to our governments most sensitive secrets. The lives of Americas soldiers and intelligence agents depend on their using that knowledge responsibly. It is now clear that certain partisan members of this vital committee have conspired to misuse their positions, influence, and access to classified information to undermine President Bush during the 2004 campaign season.
The leaked memo describes a phony independent investigation designed to let the Democrats dig through classified material information that should be used to improve our national security to support and publicize their political agenda. We agree with Senator Zell Miller that this abuse must not be tolerated, ignored, or excused, and that heads should roll.
Therefore, I ask every American citizen to join me in calling for the immediate resignation of Jay Rockefeller from the United States Senate. As ranking Democratic member of the Intelligence Committee, Senator Rockefeller is responsible for the acts of his subordinates. We cannot permit America's national security to be damaged by partisan political warfare.
The complete contents of the memo, press articles, transcripts from the Congressional Record and other information can be found at www.intelmemo.com.
The Free Republic Network is a 501(c)(4) public service corporation whose mission is to organize, train and support conservative activists nationwide. It provides information and organizational services to more than 50 regional and issue-based chapters around the country, and serves as the activism arm of the Free Republic Forum.

I wish I could say I'm surprised that the memo hasn't gotten the press coverage it should have, but it is a trend in reporting to ignore any blunder by a Democrat and instead focus intense attention on making Republicans into evil tyrants.
After all, the RATs in Sacramento were caught by dozens of reporters and Republicans with the open mike during the caucus meeting where they talked about all the possible political gain to be had by dragging out the budget process. The story went through the papers so quick you'd think it never had have happened.
But we were subject to weeks and weeks about a supposed lie in the State of the Nation speech that virtually every article confirms as being the truth - that there was a report, that the report investigation was inconclusive, that the report came from a questionable source, and that the English still stand by the report.
Perhaps someone should doctor up a similarly sounding memo, this time casting a dark shadow on Republicans, and see how quickly reporters will gobble it up and plaster it across the newspapers on the front page. Perhaps even tip off the NY Post and other right leaning publications so that the scam can be exposed, and left leaning papers can demonstrate to all how quickly they'll put out junk.

I recall that. In and out of the news quicker than crap through a goose... Barely a blip on the radar...
But we were subject to weeks and weeks about a supposed lie in the State of the Nation speech that virtually every article confirms as being the truth - that there was a report, that the report investigation was inconclusive, that the report came from a questionable source, and that the English still stand by the report.
They are still beating that into the ground - it became the basis for most of the democratic campaigns for president this time around...

The only problem with that idea (and it IS a good one) is that the fact that it was a scam, a hoax on the media, would never see the light of day...

I just emailed to Sen Rockefeller with this message
Senator Rockefeller, I ask you to reflect upon this oath
that you took when you entered into our great US Senate...
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I
will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter:
So help me God.
Have you failed the citizens of this nation ?
