However, once they removed the feeding tube, Terri began dying from lack of food and nourishment. Catholic teaching states she has the right to viaticum. One of the family's lawyers asked Michael Schiavo's lawyers if I could give Terri Communion. Michael said, "Yes, he can give my wife Communion."

When Michael's attorney Deborah Bushnell asked how this would be done, I explained that I would dip the index finger of my right hand in holy water, use it to pick up a small particle of the host and place it on her tongue. That's when the battle began. They told me I could not do that.

Does this show Michael to be ignorant or what? He was reportedly a Lutheran and they, as most Protestants, also use bread in communion, and surely he must have seen Terri take at least one Catholic mass? Did he think it was going to be just a prayer?

When I lived in the Tampa/St. Pete area, this man would occasionally come to my church to say mass. Reading this makes me glad that I was able to have this experience.

When I went to Terri's room it was more like a prison. Three police officers stood outside of her room. Two stood beside her bed.

What?

Who paid for these police officers? Why were they there? Five cops for one comatose woman? What about her right to privacy? Huh?

* Catholic teaching states she has the right to viaticum. *

*Three police officers stood outside of her room. Two stood beside her bed. I asked, "What would happen if I put the consecrated host on her tongue?" They told me, "We will deny you access to her mouth. We will resist [arrest?] you."*

Terri Schiavo was denied her rights, under the US Constitution AND under Canon Law.

Why Was Terri Denied Holy Communion?

an email I received....

My mother called me last week and told me that my dad's youngest brother choked on a piece of meat. He was standing at the kitchen counter eating sausage. His wife went to another room and when she came back, he was motioning for her to hit him on the back (NEVER do that, always do the Heimlich). She did and he started turning blue. She called 911 and by the time they got there, he passed out. He's been in a coma since last Saturday. His daughters from an earlier marriage, from California, came to see him. The doctors had told his wife that they needed to take him off life support because he was brain dead. WELL, his oldest daughter had put her head on the bed and was crying, his sister noticed that tears started coming down his face. They called in the doctor and he told Lisa (his daughter) to talk to him and tell him to blink, so she did and he blinked! We're all just praying that he continues to improve.
