but later in the day the chairman made it sound as if he was ready to sit down with the Democrats and smoke the peace pipe.

I knew he'd softball this. When are the Republicans going to realize that we want SPINE in our politicians? We voted them in to straighten things out, not bend over for Democrats and their agendas!

Firing the author is a joke. The author didn't just go off and do this on his own. Hannity reported today that the memo was written on Rockefeller's explicit orders. If so, Rockefeller is the one who needs to be given the boot.

There is no Republican in the Legislative Branch that has even a tiny semblance of b@lls.

If the GOP spineless jerks don't get with it, I'm staying home in 2004. I already have a Hazmat suit to wear to vote for W again. I only had to hold my nose to vote for his daddy in 1992.

Faster please.

I am hoping that the Republicans are being smarter here than they are being given credit for. They are consistently taking the high road, while the dims mud wrestle in the gutter. The message is getting out on talk radio and the internet, making the dems look like treasonous out of control degenerates.

Does anyone remember that several months ago Jay Rockefeller appeared on Fox News Sunday and was then attacked by Democrats for not being more anti-Bush?

IMHO, Jay Rockefeller was "taken into the woodshed" after this event by Hillary's forces in the party (remember, she is now the head of the Democratic Senate Policy Committee or some such), and told to "ship up or ship out."

IMHO, Rockefeller commissioned the staff member to write this memo on the "suggestion" of someone higher up in the Democratic Senate food chain (although you cannot get more low down than this person!).
