Democrats' abuse of power

It is a full year before next year's national elections, and Democrats are already up to dirty tricks. On air yesterday, commentator Sean Hannity made public a leaked memorandum that detailed a Democratic plan to use classified intelligence information to attack President Bush politically. The memo suggested that Democrats "pull the majority along as far as we can on issues that may lead to major new disclosures" and then "pull the trigger" against the administration. West Virginia's Jay Rockefeller, the ranking member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, admitted that the memo was written by his staff, but downplayed its importance. The scandal will be difficult to cover up.

WHY AREN'T THE REPUBLICANS COUNTERING THE "OUTRAGE" BY THE DEMOCRATS IN THE LEAK OF THE MEMO, WITH THE FOLLOWING? IF THE DEMOCRATS CAN'T EVEN KEEP A STINKIN MINORITY MEMO SECURE ENOUGH AS NOT TO BE LEAKED TO THE MEDIA, HOW CAN THEY BE TRUSTED WITH MATTERS OF NATIONAL SECURITY AND SECRET INTELLEGENCE?

Perhaps if you did a little more reading and a little less shouting...

"I hope no senators are involved," Mr. Specter said. "But on the face of this memorandum, I think an inquiry has to be made. The intelligence committee cannot function with this kind of cloud hanging over it." Mr. Specter added that the memo controversy, if left uninvestigated, "is a built-in excuse for intelligence agencies not to cooperate."

You are asking the Republican leadership, especially in the feckless Senate, to reach between their legs and grab something haven't had since they became the majority during the Xlinton years. Bennett from Utah may be the only exception.

PJ, last night (Thursday night), Tom Brokaw had a piece on with a few Republican quotes and far more Democrat quotes, he hinted that it was just the usual politics, didn't adequately explain what the controversy was, and obscured the real story.

Basicly, Tom did a token piece so that now he can say he has "covered it" when in reality he didn't cover it at all. Worse, what coverage he did do was clearly from the Democrat side.

I'm waiting to see the Media Research Center's take on it.

What exactly are they doing?

Another one, from today's NY Post:

Intelligence Committee chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) asked Rockefeller to repudiate the memo and when he heard nothing but excuses justifying the memo from Rockefeller yesterday, he canceled a hearing.

It'll probably take more than canceling a hearing or two to stop the 'Rats from going ahead with their plan to attack GWB next year, as outlined in this memo.

Oh, I'm sure you'll both sneer, but this morning's Wash Times reports that Sen. Santorum and the GOP are threatening to remove the Dems' power-sharing privileges if the Dems don't publicly disavow this plot. Sen. Specter has called for an investigation into who wrote the memo and why. Sen. Chambliss called for disclosure and firing of the memo's author.

Ooooooooooooooh!!! THIS should strike fear in the hearts of democrat traitors everywhere. Not!!!

The republicant's should, on Wednesday night, demand all the democrats on the comittee step down from the intelligence committee, and any committee dealing with defense/security. They must also demand the Senator responsible for the memo to resign from the Senate.

What good will the firing of the 'author' do? They'll blame it on a 'staffer.'

Then they should replace all the democrats with REAL republicans.

They must end power sharing, and cloture votes--two concepts made up by the democrat party, encouraged by the cowardly republicant's, and accepted and ignored by the incompetent media and the ignorant, stupid public.

And where is our Lord and Savior, El Presidente? His new tone is a complete failure--He needs for fight DOMESTIC DEMOCRAT TERRORISM as well. He keeps forgetting there is a bully pulpit. He damned well better use it.

You're hopeless. The only consolation for me is that people like you gripe a lot, but tend to stay home on Election Day. I can assure you I'll not only be voting, but I'll be working hard to ensure that President Bush is re-elected and that the GOP increases its Senate majority.
