A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Nope, this problem is here to stay, for a long long while. Sad. I'm afraid we're going to spend the rest of our lives on alert, frankly. If we let our guard down even once, boom. We do have the option of removing the muslim menace and then securing our borders Tancredo-style.
Failure to eradicate the islamic threat means we now live like Israel: always under constant threat, having to live with an 'acceptable' level of death from successful terrorist acts, and loss of freedom as well as quality of life.
The satanic Evil will never quit. It must be destroyed.
For all intents and purposes the US is a Christian nation based on Judeo-Christian principles. Having a Satanic Cult of Death as a 'religion' on equal footing with Christianity and other G-d fearing religions in our midst is the surest course for our destruction.
They have announced who they are.
They have announced why they will kill us.
They have killed us.
They are trying to kill us at this very hour.
They will try to kill us again, again, and again.
They will succeed in killing us in future terror acts.
We can either wake the hell up and do what is necessary, or die a slow and painful death.

The course of action we have chosen virtually ensures that our young infants and grandchildren will be fighting this war when they grow up.
I hate the very thought of that.

Was your thread really pulled? Makes no sense for them to do that . . . perhaps they want us to wait until confirmed by CNN . . . next week . . .

If the nation went to red what are the odds it would be announced? Do you think everything would just shut down?

re your post no. 5568...ANY CHANGE IN ALERT STATUS WOULD BE ANNOUNCED BECAUSE IT COSTS $$$ AND MANPOWER HOURS TO IMPLEMENT and there are procedures and guidelines set in place.

FWIW:

Former Soviet spy: Small nuclear devices planted in U.S.
http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/01/28/spy.hearing/ LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- A hooded, former Soviet spy with tales of threats to U.S. security was the star witness at a congressional hearing this week in California. The one-time military intelligence colonel testified that suitcase-sized nuclear devices are hidden on U.S. soil.
"Soviet general staff designed special plan for the future war against America," witness Stanislav Lunev testified Monday in heavily accented English.
It may sound like Cold War-era fiction, but some U.S. congressmen, hoping to convince people the stories are reality, invited Lunev -- who they claim is the highest-ranking defector from Russian military intelligence -- to a field hearing in Los Angeles.
Lunev said his mission was to scout for "dead drop" sites in the United States that were to be used to store communications devices and weapons, including those of mass destruction. "Dead drop" sites were sites at which one agent could leave an item and another agent could pick it up.
"I had very clear instruction: these dead drop positions need to be found for all types of weapons, including nuclear weapons," said Lunev.
Senior U.S. government officials say the FBI can find no evidence supporting Lunev's claims.
=====
In a post 9-11 world, the fact that the FBI can't find no evidence doesn't sound very impressive. They didn't find any evidence that 9-11 was being planned either.

Valedez Alaska port shut down;
Multiple intl flights cancelled/escorted/rechecked.
A flurry of arrests and discoveries eg Two planes loaded with explosives in Saudi.
CAP's etc.
Sure sounds like the color red.
They go to Red if a WMD style attack goes off, and a lot of commerce shuts down ie - another 911.
If we go Red, we may even go to martial law as Tommy Franks recently indicated.

Jusft found another article, where the FBI admits there may be suitcase nukes in the US:
DATE: Nov. 8, 1999
FBI Director Admits Russians May Have Secret Weapons in US
NewsMax.com
http://www.newsmax.com/articles/?a=1999/11/8/73601 FBI Director Louis Freeh admitted that Russia may yet have stored weapons including nuclear suitcase bombs at secret locations around the U.S.
The stunning revelations appeared in yesterdays editions of the New York Post. The paper quoted Congressman Curt Weldon (R-Pa.) as having had a conversation with Freeh in the past two weeks.
Weldon said that Freeh "acknowledged the possibility that hidden weapons caches exist in the United States . . . .
Weldon, a leading congressional expert on Russia and chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Research and Development, said, "There is no doubt that the Soviets stored material in this country. The question is what and where.
Congressional scrutiny has focused on dozens of nuclear suitcase bombs that have disappeared from Russians nuclear arsenal. According to Russian sources, including Russian General Alexander Lebed, Russia produced 132 nuclear suitcase bombs, each carrying 10 kilotons of explosive material. Only 48 remain in Russias inventory; the rest have disappeared.
The FBI has taken a nonchalant approach to locating the secret caches.

Hmmm. If Russia just recently helped sadam with night vision goggles, would Russia (or at least certain Russians) help usama bin laden with suitcase nukes? Interesting flashback article.

That is what red means. Lock down. No flights, no trains, no public transportation of any kind, if children are in school, they follow a procedure, parents can't pick them up.

I guess what I'm wondering is if the procedures include shutting down general communications in sectors/regions or overall...along with pulling out all the other stops that would be expected under code red.

I was just researching suitcase nukes and found something very interesting, which, when one puts 2+2 together, it could be ominous -- or I could be over reacting, but please read this, and see if it's you think it's a possibility.
On 12/26 they found a very long thin wire on the Poplar Street bridge over the Mississipi, hangining into the water near a barge, then I read in an old article that to detonate a nuclear suitcase you need a very long thin wire going to the power lines. Could that thin wire be put there with that intent? Why would someone hang a long thin wire on the bridge going into the water? (AQ could have removed the nuke, if there was one)

Part 1:
Mysterious Wire Found on Poplar Street Bridge
http://www.ksdk.com/news/news_article_lc.asp?storyid=52236 The United States Coast Guard will do a sonar check of the Mississippi River near the Poplar Street Bridge later this morning. A mysterious wire caused police to stop cars on the bridge yesterday.
A Coast Guard cutter on routine patrol spotted a thin wire. It was tied to the bridge's guardrail. The wire went into the water, floating beneath a barge. Because of concerns of terrorism, local police and federal officials took no chances.
They stopped traffic as they pulled the wire out of the water. In the end, it was just a wire, nothing more. Police defend their use of extra manpower.

Part 2:
US Investigating Whether Nukes In Country
Posted Dec. 21, 2001
http://www.insightmag.com/main.cfm/include/detail/storyid/160694.html "They (suitcase nukes) are difficult to set up, said Lunev, because a small current of power
is needed to store the weapon safely near its detonation site. This means
the operator of the weapon would need to run a fine wire up to a power
line. If someone discovered the wire powering the weapon and tried to walk
it back, the wire is so fine it would break, he said."
===
(There is also more info about backpack nukes in the article, which are even smaller than suitcase nukes and are plutonium devices)

"if children are in school, they follow a procedure, parents can't pick them up."
They will need martial law to keep order if this is true. I hope and pray we never find out!
