A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.
A friend who's an EMT later said it was a LP gas tank exploding at the Pentagon.
There were also realtime reports of a car bomb at the State Dept., which turned out not to be true.
I took a drive around downtown DC that same evening, including right through the Mall via 14th Street, and there was no other apparent damage other than the Pentagon.
There was an alleged explosion in Foggy Bottom. Actually IIRC, media references were to the State Dept. (not the more general area of Foggy Bottom), and State was evacuated. But the truth is that every federal building in DC and No. VA was evac'd by 10:30AM. It was also reported by CNN as a "car bomb" at State the morning of 9/11. I clearly remember that.
But none of this turned out to be true.
Even on that day, 9/11, it seemed to me as if someone had reported the threat of a "car bomb" at State, and it was garbled by the media in realtime reporting to mean an actual car bomb.
Also, I drove around downtown DC the evening of 9/11. There was no evidence of any "car bomb" or any other kind of damage anywhere, aside from the Pentagon. There was certainly no assertion of any bomb in the media the next day, and it would be extremely difficult to overlook such a thing if it really happened.
I'm also trying to cleanup this issue about the "explosion" which occurred some time after the plane hit the Pentagon, because there's a lot of confusion about it.
Yes, there was an explosion, no doubt about that. I heard it about 20 minutes after the plane struck. I know this time is accurate because I had left the house just before 10AM to get to a biz appointment, and heard the explosion 5 to 8 minutes later while stopping to buy aspirin at a CVS down the street.
This explosion was from an LP gas tank at the Pentagon, as relayed to me by an EMT/fireman with 15 years experience. I know the guy well and have no reason to disbelieve him. But you could hear and feel it from 3 miles away (it shook the windows at the CVS pharmacy), which would certainly explain why folks in Foggy Bottom and elsewhere in DC would have heard this same explosion.
No, there was no fire there or anywhere else in DC on 9/11.
They did not say that there was no chatter. Thats a given that there was a high volume of chatter. Southack posted that the terrorist did not brag prior to 9/11 as stupid wanna-be Daleel is doing.
Senior law enforcement officials say car bomb explodes outside of State Department in Washington, D.C. Federal protective services later denies car bomb attack occurred...
And the POST
...The core of the nation's capital was plunged this morning into a state of fear and confusion, with rumors of explosions all over town and thousands of people trapped in gridlocked traffic. People scanned the skies for incoming terrorist planes. There were reports sources unknown of bombs and smoke all around the federal city.
They came one after another: A car bomb at the State Department. A bomb at the Capitol. A bomb at the Old Executive Office Building. The USA Today building in Rosslyn was supposedly enveloped in smoke. Reported as fact on radio and television, the rumors were untrue...
Again, there were few media reports of this incident (although I've seen one or two), and my only explanation comes from an experienced EMT, whose emergency services buddies said an LP tank at the Pentagon exploded at that time (BTW, they also said the airplane hit the ground before hitting the Pentagon).
I was 3.5 miles from the Pentagon at the time, your friend in Foggy Bottom was 2 miles away. So there's no doubt that if I heard it from 3.5 miles, that she also would have heard it from 2 miles.
And I don't at all dispute that her house shook, because I could actually "feel" the explosion as much as hear it. Again, the windows visibly shook.
BTW, I reported seeing smoke on FR that morning, and I initially couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from. It's very possible I posted just before leaving the house right around 10AM, and it's also possible I would have said the smoke was in the direction of the Mall. So your source may have been me!
Our college didn't have a lot of nuclear courses at the undergraduate level.
And just for the record: Uranium and Plutonium *are* metals. They are also very brittle, another factor to consider.
So if I drop my pit on the floor, it's gonna shatter into a million pieces.
And you know how difficult it is to get fissionable materials from under the fridge.
Relee, I'm not sure if you're trying to make the case for "explosions all over town" or the fact that they were rumors (as stated in the snips you've posted).
But I was there. No "bombs and smoke all around the federal city." No car bomb at State, as reported by CNN and subsequently refuted.
And if true, why was I able to drive all around downtown DC that evening, and why didn't I see any damage anywhere, and why were there no fire trucks, and why was there no bomb damage at State, and why do my 11:10AM photos of DC (from a highrise building) show no smoke anywhere but from the Pentagon, and ....?????
100 percent unadulterated rumors.
