[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

The Vice President was shown on CNN yesterday (Wed.) but they didn't say where he was, as I recall. My impression was he's probably in one of his secure locations, judging from what could be seen. It just had that "look" about it.
But my impression could be way off.

The amount of firepower which can be packed in the back of a car trunk, even a compact, in the hands of a trained fireteam could also result in the deaths of several hundred to possibly thousands if simply thought out.
These risks will always exist in a peaceful unarmed society. After such attacks occur, the popular vote by the feet will be more CCW and gun ownership by the populous.
Then such tactics will be greatly limited in their opportunity to succeed.
The dearth of such attacks in the US is testimony that our enemies of action are from overseas and misinterpret our strengths and weaknesses.
If they understood us better, they wouldn't label 'America' as the enemy, but would oppose more readily those powers, authorities, and principalities which influence all men who reject or act independently of God.
Until they do so, they become and remain loser pawns for satanic systems of control.

"And just how do we undermine that confidence? "
By doing exactly what we're doing. By draining the swamp. By keeping pressure worldwide on the most extreme elements of islamicism. It's hard to be confident when you're dead. It's hard to be confident when you are in a cage in Gitmo. It's hard to be confident when your plans, and the plans of your friends are thwarted time & time again.
I think the fact that they are in swagger-mode is good for us, and that we can use it to our advantage. Please don't mistake my comments as resignation to some inevitable evil - I just think the time is ripe for them to try something.
God, bless those charged with fighting this war, right now, wherever they are around the world. Bless also, those in this country who we have elected to guide us, and give each one of them wisdom and perception, both today and throughout the coming days. Strengthen each one of us to do exactly what we need to do to cause the evil plans made against us to fail. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that untold numbers are before the Throne of Grace night and day on behalf of our beloved country. We thank You for stirring us to plead our cause, for we are aware of the danger that surrounds. We thank You that You are Founder of this great nation ... we thank You that those in authority over us seek that all nations enjoy the freedom that has been granted to us ... we know that others look upon might and wealth and power as things to be coveted, or destroyed, for such is the envy of man.
Father, we pray that Your hand of protection would rest mightily upon us ... not that we are deserving, but that You are a God of Mercy. Stand guard over our military, as they stand guard for us, and over us ... stand guard over our civilian protectors, for they are a line of defense that protects us. How can we thank You, Merciful Father, for these men and women who risk all that we would be safe? Surely, Your love is in them ... greater love hath no man, but that he would lay down his life for another. Cover these dear ones with our tears and our prayers ... may they become a covering of protection for each one, wherever they serve.
Thank You, O God, that You have granted unto us another night and day of relative peace and calm. May it continue to be so ... expose those who would do us harm ... sweep aside all plans for the shedding of innocent blood ... keep us focused and successful and render the enemy confused and powerless.
We seek peace and safety for all people, Sovereign Lord, for You are the Creator of each. Speak to the hearts of those who would destroy, that they might desire the joy of freedom. To You be all glory, honor, and praise, in the Name of Jesus, Amen ...

Please don't take this personally, but as offended as I get when I see some Muslim blabbering on about "Allah this" and "Allah that", I get just as upset when I see a Christian doing the same thing - "God this" and "Jesus that". Leave God out of this - just as Muslims should leave "Allah" out of this. This is a dispute between PEOPLE - human beings who, for whatever reason, feel the need to invoke some higher power as justification (in the Islamic case) or as protection (in the Christian case). It's rubbish to me. If it works for you, fine, but the truth of the matter is - RELIGION ONLY EXACERBATES THIS PROBLEM. Religion, if you go back far enough in history, is also the ROOT CAUSE of this problem between Islam and Christianity. When are humans going to wake up and realize this? When are we going to stop praying to some faceless "higher power" and realize that we are both in charge of our own destinies, and that ONLY we have the power to do something about the situation at hand? I don't intend to turn this thread into a religious free-for-all, but I also wanted to just point out that I find Christian verbiage just as annoying as Islamic verbiage. As I say, sorry if this comes across as personal - this is merely my opinion of what I think of the words you posted.

wanted to just point out that I find Christian verbiage just as annoying as Islamic verbiage. The difference, of course, is that most Christians won't kill you for being an infidel. They may pray for you, but they won't blow up your bus.

Sounds to me like you're a religious bigot. I think you'll find your attitude is much more accepted over at the DU. Oh wait, you just signed up today to post your rubbish. I smell a troll.

There is an unwritten rule around here that new members should show a little more respect to more senior members than you have shown as a member for less than a day. From the tone of your letter, I suspect that you regularly post under a different name, but lacked the testicles to do so this time or that you were previously ZOTTED for being an A-Hole.

When are we going to stop praying to some faceless "higher power" I notice a lot of atheists come out around the holidays and attempt to foist their nonbeliever views on others.

Greetings... I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
A bit about something regarding these threats from EOM.
There's something that the U.S. Government isn't reporting on the security alerts. There is credible evidence that Al-Qaeda has smuggled in several 8 kiloton nuclear devices into America. Two known devices have been mentioned by their serial numbers that match what the former soviet union had on record. I wouldn't worry about cargo planes flying into buildings.. I would worry about some Allah assclown parking his cheap Nissan Sentra close to a large gathering of people during the Christmas and New Year holidays and detonating it...Once that happens..America will then be thrusted into Martial Law and the Constitution will be ignored. Don't believe me.. Tommy Franks said this in the December issue of Cigar Afficiando.(sp.)

So, let me make sure I understand your little rant . . . it's okay for you to publicly invoke your religion of humanism, but the rest of us should refrain from ever invoking ours of theism, as it might offend you . . . what a wonderful example of tolerance . . . thanks, and, by the way, Merry Christmas! Welcome to Free Republic!

liz, I'm likewise in the general neighborhood of TMI and I could hear some jets during the wee hours last night, but couldn't see them . . . also saw a number of very curved contrails yesterday (today totally overcast, so nothing), indicating jet aircraft flying circular patterns, rather than the normal straight or slightly curving patterns of commercial traffic . . . right after 9/11 we actually saw the KC-135 tankers doing aerial refueling of other large jet aircraft (perhaps AWACS) in the skies high above the Cumberland Valley . . .

If they're in possession of the fabled low-yield nuclear device, they would make more money if they blew out the production of a vital resource.
Despite the propagandistic views of the Hollywierdos, the Oscars are NOT a national resource. Similarly, a football game is not a national resource, though the attendees might be. But, if their intent was to harm the individuals, they could focus an attack by hitting the worksite and not a stadium.
