Celebrations Erupt Across Arab World after US Chopper Crash
Associated Press ^ | November 2, 2003 | nwrep

Cairo, Egypt-AP -- There are celebrations reported across the Arab world, after the news of more American casualties in Iraq.

Resistance to the occupation is applauded by some who see it as proof that Iraqis weren't totally humiliated by the relative ease of the U-S-led coalition's toppling of Saddam Hussein.

Many Arabs had warned an invasion of Iraq could drag the region into chaos. In Damascus today, foreign ministers from countries bordering Iraq again called on the U-S to restore order in that country.

Their budget isn't as big as the others.I pick and choose.I will always be grateful for their openly pro American stance on the Iraq war.MSNBC did a good job of featuring individual service people.CNN should know most Americans know neutrality has no place on US TV during war. They lost a lot of viewers.

Remember earlier on the other thread I posted an article about an explosion on a pipeline in Kirkuk. This is also from Al Jezeera. Notice they don't say who is causing the destruction.

Iraq's bloodiest Sunday

Monday 03 November 2003, 1:03 Makka Time, 22:03 GMT

Iraq's bloodiest day in six months continued late into the night on Sunday. In the latest incident police said an Iraqi civilian was killed when six mortars fell on residential areas, some near US army forces.

The mortars were fired at around 11:20 pm (2020 GMT) on central neighborhoods in Kirkuk, 225 kilometres (140 miles) north of Baghdad, said Lieutenant Colonel Torhan Yusef, head of police forces in Kirkuk.

Aidan Ezzedin, 54, was instantly killed when a mortar slammed on his house, close to a US position, while eight other civilians were wounded, including two in serious condition, when a second mortar hit another house near a UN office.

The four other mortars fell near a police station, two bridges and Hotel Baba Gargar which usually houses Turkish businessmen, without inflicting damage, he said.

Tensions have been running high in Iraq which has objected to US-backed Turkish plans to dispatch peacekeepers to Iraq, fearing military involvement of neighboring countries might interfere with domestic politics.

Oil-rich Kirkuk has also become an active front in the war between the US military and insurgents since the April 9 fall of president Saddam Hussein, with attacks mostly targeting US bases and oil pipelines.

The mortar attacks came at the end of one of the of the worst days for the occupying forces with at least 18 US soldiders killed in sevaral attacks.

"Ironic isn't it that the left who screams "no blood for oil" won't allow us to produce our own, thus freeing us from dependence on Middle Eastern oil?"

Brilliant - My vote for quote of the month - Is this your quote?

I think one of the rockets or something barely missed the CAIR building in Iraq the same day that they hit the Red Cross. CAIR was talking about leaving Iraq also. Don't know if they ever did.

Will they be showing vidoes these grand celebrations and festivities at Mr. Bush's grand Ramadam dineer, now? Will they, eh? I'm sure the state dining room would be filled with grand applause and cheers, joining the grand celebration!

This sounds like the logic of those who condemn all Christians for a the actions of the minority.

Bush isn't about turn the war on terrorism into a religious war on Islam. That is exactly what Osama wants.

I AM!
You have to remember this is not the 1st time I've seen this stuff.
It brings back the memories of what I saw during the 60's and 70's.
It's time for the media, once and for all, to stop trying
to influence the US population with slanted coverage.

Hmmm - which is preferable, winning the hearts and minds of those who hate us and wish to destroy us, or destroying their hearts and heads? Which is within the realm of possibility? And why do liberals think that violence never solves anything? When faced with a mad dog, or rather a pack of mad dogs, do you try to win their hearts and minds and reason with them?

It took years to turn the public against the war.Think how many lives were lost there. We don't have the left in charge of all the media anymore.

We are pretty mature about losses occurring during war,sad as they are.I am not worried about the media.I am worried about the State Dept,Congress cutting off funding, the Pentagon staying the course, the infighting in the decision makers.I believe Bush will stay with it,but he needs support.

The President Has Tonk's and My Full support, now. I recently returned from Afghanistan fighting the enemy there. If and when called upon, I stand ready to take our enemies on again now at home or abroad. I have been serving a long time, over 27 years. Tonk and I have a very deep love for this Country. We both support President Bush Very Strongly.

This is why we need to be worried about the media.
FYI FOX at the top of the new hour is finally
talking about the tragedy of today 1st instead of the anti-American cheering.
FOX finally called our murdered troops heroes.
Just proves they come to FR toget an idea of what we think.
