if the Hildebeast runs now she'll have to fight to an uncertain end. if she waits till 2008 she will have a much easier time. She'll wait.

Bingo. She can't seem to broaden her support beyond froth-at-the-mouth Bush-haters.
To: uncbob
Exactly. Indeed, Mondale still got 41 percent even as Reagan swept 49 states.
To: JohnHuang2
It would be political suey-cide for her to run against Pres. Bush. Therefore, she won't, even though those who adore her, including Big Media, beg her to run.

"Head to head match-up?" The words "head" and "Hillary" juxtaposed conjures a mental picture on which is impossible to dwell without tossing one's cookies.

if she waits till 2008 she will have a much easier time. She'll wait. All this was true for bubba in 1992. A Bush in the whitehouse looked absolutely unbeatable. All the smart democrats were lying low, waiting for 1996 when Republicans would be vulnerable. HRC hasn't forgotten the lessons of 1992. This time she's got bubba's national popularity and money-raising talents at her disposal. And don't forget the sheer hatred the Clintons have for Bush Jr. For HRC this isn't about waiting for the best possible year to make her move, it's about taking out Bush by any means necessary.
Remember her rolled eyes and scowling expression at W's first State of the Union address. That's not a woman who will be happy to bide her time waiting for opportunity to knock on her door.

bubba had a smear machine that hit the road in high gear and kept going for eight years. People are much more cynical about this sort of thing now - so it'll be far less effective. Plus she already IS on the national scene.
AND she's smarter than Bill.
