Drew was tired from chasing all those defensive backs who were running back his interceptions. ;^ )

I think Rush was right, the guy was over-hyped. And I believe part of it was racial.
I think Rush was wrong. Football comments were welcome, he was hired because of his name, and he actually knows about the game. But if he wants to talk about social issues/impacts, tell him to get a radio show.

The Philly sports writers and the national ones obviously do care about the color of McNabb.....
So the Philly press is praising McNabb? Hardly any criticisms?

In McNabb's defense, he has been playing with an injured thumb (and a very mediocre coprs of receivers) all season long.McNabb played a whole game last year with a broken ankle, so I doubt the thumb injury is affecting him much. But you are right about the mediocre receiving corps. McNabb's statistics would be at least respectable if the catchable passes he HAS thrown were actually caught.

As a matter of fact, they were the ones who started the McNabb backlash. They clearly came to his defense, and still have not started to do what normally would have been done aka Harrington.
Sorry about that, but it's true.

I'd take Brad Johnson over McNabb anyday. I honestly can't think of anyone who has ever been more overrated than McNabb. Maybe Tony Mandritch? Green Bay took him over Barry Sanders in the draft.

McNabb played a whole game last year with a broken ankle, so I doubt the thumb injury is affecting him much. If McNabb were a punter, you'd have a point. But he doesn't throw passes with his ankle. LOL.
If I remember correctly, his ankle injury primarily limited his mobility, not his passing abilities.

In McNabb's defense, he has been playing with an injured thumb (and a very mediocre coprs of receivers) all season long. His team is also 4-3 and one game behind Dallas for first place. The problem with judging McNabb by his passing rating is that it ignores the other things he brings to the game, such as his running ability and the fact that he wins. I'd take him over many of the higher rated quarterbacks any day.

Good point. Over the last couple of years I've looked at Donovan McNabb as the NFL's version of Greg Maddux -- a great, talented competitor who can make his team a winner, but strangely unable to carry his team to the very top.

It should also be pointed out, though, that McNabb contributed almost nothing to one of those Philadelphia victories -- their 3rd win of the season, against the Giants. In fact, Philly won that game on a botched special teams play -- they won in spite of McNabb, who may have had the worst game I've seen from a starting quarterback in two decades.

Well, of course he's last. What did you expect after Rush bruised his self-esteem so badly. Black jocks are sensitive too, you know. For the sake of diversity, how about some white guys on some of these teams? How about an affirmative action plan for white jocks?

Memo to Tom Jackson and Blowhard Berman: How do you like your crow? Not just those guys, but nearly all the ESPN anchors should be dining on the black bird. I watched several sports news shows after the action last Sunday, and nearly every last one of them went way out of their way to talk up McNabb's performance against the hapless Jets ......a decent performance, for sure, but nothing to rave like a madman about. And they were over-emphasizing his intelligence ....what a superior mental performance it was. The whole thing was comical, and transparent.

So should I assume that the Lions over-priced QB is still hyped as a future star, with no statistics (personal or team) to warrant such praise, because he is white? I like Rush and I am anxiously awaiting his return, but I will never think he was right about this one McNabb has been in the league 5 seasons. This is Harrington's first full year as a starter. McNabb has had time to show his "potential". Harrington is still essentially unproven. Harrington has a bad record, but it's only because Detroit sucks as a team. Dropped passes and a non-existent run game don't exactly make a quarterback look good.

Is McNabb reported to be gay?
