OSAMA bin Laden's al-Qaeda terror network is planning a "death blow" against Americans during the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, a Saudi magazine reports in its issue due out today.
"Al-Qaeda is going to carry out a death blow against Americans during the month of Ramadan," Al-Majallah said, quoting an e-mail sent by Abu Mohammed al-Ablaj, identified as a senior member of al-Qaeda.
Ablaj, who regularly communicates with the London-based weekly via e-mail, did not specify if the threatened strike will be carried out in the United States or against American interests abroad.
"Muslims have the right to draw the blood of Americans, civilian or military, everywhere in the world," Ablaj said.
He did not dismiss the possibility of a "painful" strike in Iraq, which is currently under a US-led occupation following the overthrow of dictator Saddam Hussein.
"Bin Laden has ordered his supporters to carry out a guerrilla war against Arab and Muslim countries where there is an American military and commercial presence," Ablaj said.
"The guerrilla war decided by bin Laden and his assistants won't be limited to martyr (suicide) operations mentioned in his last two messages. This (war) will be carried out by other means and (using) different types of weapons," he added.
In a message purported to be from bin Laden and aired on October 18 by Qatar's Al-Jazeera television station, the terror chief threatened to send suicide bombers to the United States and attack any forces joining the US-led coalition in Iraq.

Just saw another interesting article:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1011867/posts Cases of piracy at sea leap, Indonesia worst (some by Al Qaeda)
In July it reported three attempted boardings in less than a week, with pirates firing automatic weapons at two gas tankers and an oil tanker.
Western intelligence agencies and maritime security experts have gone further. Some have linked al Qaeda, or militant groups associated with it, to piracy in Indonesia's waters.
Some experts say al Qaeda showed its nautical strategy and sophisticated seaborne attack capability by bombing the Limburg oil tanker off Yemen in 2002 and U.S. warship USS Cole in 2000.
Jemaah Islamiyah, a group whose goal is to create an Islamic state enveloping Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the southern Philippines, has also been identified by experts as capable of hijacking a supertanker and exploding it in the strait.

This last possibility can have major impact on world commerce and economy. Mansoor Ijaz talked about it a few times on FoxNews.

As a people, no. Individually, I have no problem with it. Luckily for the Middle East, I'm not the one holding the launch button.

Damn sissies would have done it already if they could. They're spent. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the 9//11 plan take a couple of yrs to implement? It concerns me to see how we Americans can so easily can fall into a false sense of security and become complacent. I have no doubt that another plan by them is in the making. Let's pray it is intercepted in some way.

And if the 'death blow' doesn't work they'll try the 'sleeper hold' and if we still do not surrender, then is the dreaded 'claw.'

I agree with you. I said something similar earlier.
While we don't want to cower in fear, but we need to stay vigilant, because yes, it can still happen here to us.

Here's a translation of one of his previous rants:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MewNews/message/12993?expand=1 Al-Qa'ida's training official Abu-Muhammad al-Ablaj hinted at the existence of cooperation between al-Qa'ida and deposed Iraqi President Saddam Husayn in the ongoing operations in Iraq. He said: "Allah has turned to him (with forgiveness). He declared jihad and did not recognize Israel. There is nothing to bar cooperation with a Muslim who has made jihad his course and way for liberating the holy lands." He pointed out, "Al-Qa'ida elements are fighting side by side with the Iraqis" but claimed that the "Western media is blacking out coverage of the operations carried out by the Iraqi resistance." He did not however explain if the operations were joint ones between them and the remnants of Saddam Husayn's followers.
Al-Ablaj did not rule out the possibility of "al-Qa'ida using Sarin gas and poisoning drinking water in US and Western cities." He said that they, al-Qa'ida, "are going to present the Americans with their capabilities" and threatened "to strike devastating blows to Israel abroad."

I remember reading about that interview between us and the Iraqi rep just before the first Gulf War that involved our rep sliding an envelope (from Bush 1) across the table to the other. It read something to the effect that if one toe of the Iraqi army crossed the border to Saudi they would be nuked. It brought fear to the eyes of the rep. Sorry that I can't remember the individuals involved
This was true. I believe it was Tariq Aziz who the message was delivered to. Although, I think the message was that if Iraq used any WMD against coalition troops, Iraq would cease to exsist as we would use nuclear weapons.

We dont have to nuke the middle east to get rid of it. I truly believe we have the resolve and leadership to do something should we get hit again.
