This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

FL_Engineer suggested that if you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Great work on this thread everybody! Took me three hours to read through and catch up. My not-for-profit accountant friend and I did some basic looking at the HFS (Hospice of the Florida Suncoast) 990 returns and he will look at all dating back to '97. His initial reaction was that their financial reporting was 'creative'.

He's zeroing in on their mission statement and how that relates to their dealings RE software program development, etc. they use to 'fund' their for-profit business. Also that a great deal of their funding is via Medicare and how that ties into the whole deal. He was using 'accountant-speak' which, of course makes a normal person's head ache :-) Don't know that he'll find anything that's not already been revealed in the various lawsuits, but it's worth a try.

Are the Schindlers banned again from visiting Terri?

That's what I say on an earlier post.

Can't the Schindlers put pressure on Demers to give them visitation rights? If Demers won't even do that, he can be exposed as biased from the start, and we can apply pressure on him and the whole FL court system.

That's what I saw (not say) on an earlier post. The Schindlers are treated horribly in regard to visitation. The legislature should pass legislation that allows immediate family members access to patients in hospitals, emergency rooms, nursing homes, and hospices. This is an outrage that Schiavo can keep them from even seeing Terri.

Don't you think that's outrageous? Kickin' Terri while she's doing well? Banking on Jeb's Order being overturned? The Judge himself showed bias today by even bringing up the constitutional issues. I think you're right. This sounds like the judge let slip his extreme biasness. Let's make sure all the attorneys on Terri's side pick up on this - the ACLJ, Pat Anderson, and the Disabilities Organization that filed a brief.

I sent an email to Ann Rule telling her this would make a great crime novel. She wrote me back and said she is following this case and has her suspicions too, but right now she is working on a book about the Green River Killer.

I caught it. I don't remember anything new, but their love for their daughter came through loud and clear. Evidently, Terri responds to her mother all the time, but not as much to her father.

Maybe they wouldn't mind if you asked them questions. You could explain that you post on the Freepers and we are trying to make sure whatever we email is accurate.

I think most of us here wouldn't mind if you represented Terri's Freepers. And it may help in the long run when we send out our email.

Maybe a list of questions would help that they could answer at their leisusre. Also do they have any questions they would like us to ask if one of us gets through on Larry King Live. Any questions that they want to make sure gets covered on Larry King that he probably won't ask.

The point I was trying to make from the article was that if anyone just listened to the mainstream media, one would hear that Terri cannot swallow anything. Here we have in the actual testimony that she can swallow but is just not able to eat enough food to sustain her. The woman was denied receiving the holy eucharist because she "could not swallow" anything. What a lie...

According to Schiavo, his wife had told him that she never wanted to be put on "anything artificial" to be kept alive.

It was clear that she didn't want to be kept alive with the help of a machine, although she never specifically said "gastrointestinal tube," said George Felos, who is representing Michael Schiavo.

"Our legal argument to the court of appeal is 'That's now how people relay their wishes in the real world,' " Felos said. "How specific does someone have to be when expressing how to carry out their wishes?"


So in August 2000 Terri's words were "nothing artificial".

Now in 2003 her words were "no tubes for me?" Sounds like more manipulation by Felos....
