Dear Republican, Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given. Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society. Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people. We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader? http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today. http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America. We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again. We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time? http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.
P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today. |
Not IMO. I think he's a crappy President and a spend-thrift big government liberal. Christians tend to confuse nice people with good people.
My area, like others is being overrun by an illegal exodus from the third world to the point where our medical and educational systems are starting to fail. It's not funny anymore, it's getting very bad.
He keeps harping on the war on terror, yet allows our enemy unfettered access to our soil.
I and many other FReepers worked our asses off for this ingrate, who then turned his back on us once he got in. I'm sick and damned tired of exploitative politicians spending my family's treasure to make themselves look good. Ef him.
I don't expect perfection and looked the other way many times during his first 2 years or so, we also don't expect betrayal. Don't even get me started on his half socialist property-snatching green brother.
I've seen all of the Bushes that I want to see. Not one of them has any deeply held political philosophy (certainly not any conservative philosophy), it's whatever they think will work at the time and what's best for their "cushion". The absolute perfect examples of the Rockafeller blue blood selfish sissy-bags. Pure political animals with a very scary and rotten side to them. They really do view anyone who isn't "on board" as an enemy.
2000 I took to the streets, gave money, time, observed "chad countings" (I live in Florida) and was nearly arrested. I joined Jeb's campaign and headed his technology commitee in Broward. Small potatoes but I did what I could, as well as preached in here endlessly and took full advantage internet outreach, emails, web design. I have many real FReepers in here that will attest to such.
This time I'd be hard pressed to even go to the polls, much less give anything beyond that. I honestly pray to my Lord that his brother never gets anywhere near the Whitehouse.
I do respect your opinion as you are a thoughtful, but to me this Presidency has been a damn nightmare.
What about Jeb's recent actions in the Terri Schiavo case? Look at the way the media is spinning the hell out of that story. I promise you, his actions last week will NOT help him politically and possibly even hurt him. I gained a hell of a lot of respect for Jeb for doing the right thing for Terri, politics be damned.
Could you please describe that "nightmare" instead of using hyperbole.
Is a Hillary or demo Presidency a wet dream to you?
Huh? I am quite happy with a Bush Presidency rather than a Gore Presidency.
JMO, but it seems that you just like to holler at everybody.
IMHO, the "RightWing" encompasses those who believe government is best that governs least, and also believes that Power should be devolved from the Federal Leviathan and back to the States, Localities, Nighborhoods, Families, and Individuals, where it belongs. The Federal Leviathan will directly control $2.3 TRILLION-plus this year!! A "RightWinger"--imho, of course--believes that is simply too friggin' much and a Right-leaning Party would work to pare back that ridiculously-high amount, not continue to ratchet it up.
"You, and those who think themselves the sole proprietors of the nomenclature The Right Wing, spend as much time as the left pointing out the things you perceive to be failures in policy by this administration, and very little time discussing the very real advances achieved by Bush since taking office, the most obvious of course being the seeming defeat of the Democratic Party, who is floundering in total disarray, without a message, without any ideas, and without a rudder as a result of the direction, and actions taken by the Bush administration since taking office. I would be concerned Mud, when I found myself promotiong the left's talking points."
That's a hollow cheap shot, saying I'm serving the DemonRATS by complaining that the Party I supported is governing too much like DemonRATS...SHEEEESH!! I'm trying to get Republicans to proudly pursue conservative policies, wherein I believe many disaffected conservative voters will rally to our cause so as to wipe out the RATS at the polls.

Bingo ! While Ashcroft is out busting paraphernalia and dirty movie sellers, eighty gazillion illegals are milking the system for every local, state and federal bennie they can get.
"Horribly misplaced priorities" is about the nicest way you can say it.
Wow Jimmy, as a member of the Libertarian party since 1984, you sure don't have any qualms with the Libertarian platform of totally open borders.
Maybe the Liberterian party should call itself "the party of disingenuous principle".

Nice to see your acid tone hasn't changed pH much.
As has been explained to you about seven hundred thousand times, "open borders" - taken out of the context of the rest of the Libertarian platform - would be suicide. Which is exactly the situation we have today. A massive welfare state, about to be made worse with "faith-based initiatives", and open borders.
Repeal the welfare/nanny state, and open borders become much more feasible. But then you knew that already.

Huh Jimmy, you were the one who was spitting and foaming about Ashcroft so much that it would make an ACLU activist blush in embarassment IMO, in your reply #492.
Sorry dude but your disingenuousness is showing and it is very apparent to those who read this thread, IMO.
That is usually, but not always, true.
They simply play spoiler in favor of the the other side.
Only if they get more votes than the "other side"s margin of victory. But a third-party vote is always a message to the major parties.
Apparently from reading your endless spam,
I post no spam; "spam" is not defined as "posts with which CJ disagrees."
the sole criteria for conservatism is one who will legalize recreational poisons and prosecute anyone who interferes in the drug trade.
False; that is one criterion.
False. At worst, a vote for a third-party candidate is like not voting at all---but it also sends a message, and the value of doing so is arguably greater than the value of one more vote (in a victory margin of hundreds of thousands, if not millions) for the marginally less liberal major candidate.
All in all, I don't disagree...I reckon I would just like to see Dubyuh be a little more ideological in his pursuit of a smaller Federal presence in out lives, and not let his worthy endeavors overseas preclude domestic policy gains that I believe would energize the economy AND the conservative base.
