The San Bernardino fire was into residential areas Sat. evening, the RAncho Cucamonga fire before that, and the widespread outbreaks in San Diego threatening evacuations by dawn on Sunday, with more popping up all morning. Resources were stretched thin Sat. nite, maxed out by Sun morning, with more aid clearly needed. Why did it take Gray Davis until Monday to call out the Nat'l Guard?

Gee, I could pee faster than that! Poor guy!

Are you listening to KFI -- they are interviewing two House/Senate Members from San Diego area. Davis is not calling in the military aircraft from Colorado while General Myers has been waiting for the call from CDF head or the Governor -- absolutely nothing from Gov Doofus! Arnold should call and tell them he'll sign the paperwork in 2 weeks!
From the looks of things, y'all need all the help y'all can get - those on duty now have to be wearing down.

The average home in Southern California is about $300,000+
To: webvanca
I would imagine that most of those homes are worth 2-3X more than $125,000.

I believe all firefighting aircraft are grounded at dusk.....they need to be low enough to do any good, and unfortunately, the visibilty just isn't there.

Been on the Rim of the World drive many times and if the fire goes over the cliff will it burn down the mountainside into the towns below? I hate that drive -- Rim of the World is right!
Don't see how you can fight the fire if it goes across the road down the mountainside unless you have choppers/planes -- no way to get people into there.

Now I'm confused: you say Davis blows....but I always thought he sucked.
Both maybe ?One cannot exhale until one inhales. :)

The area in Chatsworth they are talking about has a sign outside the development saying the houses start at about 5,000 sq feet according to the news. Cannot imagine what the prices start.

New evacuations were announced, Julian area.
PKM, glad you have moved on.
This is so very tragic. I've been luking on your thread yesterday and today, praying and not wanting to take up space. When I saw the video of Crest, I had to post what I saw and heard. Have friends in SoCal, plus several Posters I like very much. :)

Where is this fire in relation to El Cajon? I have family there.

The winds are dying down though, now, right?
To: meyer
They are now saying the flames coming down into Chatsworth expensive development are 100 feet in the air now. Some people have not left -- four families.
Would expect Cong Duncan Hunter will get the planes by going around Doofus and his inept people. Can imagine Hunter is talking to Arnold.
This is just unbelieveable that Davis would do this -- as bad as I thought he was, he is worse!

darn straight!
We need this kind of talk to bring discipline back to our state.
The loonies in LA would rather send money to CanadAir for their Canadian aircraft rather than USAF?!?!

Cannot imagine what the prices start. Probably in excess of 700k. My little crackerbox (1050 sq ft) is over 300k.
