I survived the Democratic Debates and all I got was this lousy headache.

Posted on 10/26/2003 9:18:53 PM PST by Hillary's Lovely Legs

This evening I was dishonored to attend the Democratic Presidential Debate at the fabulous Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan.

I was surrounded by 5,000 Democrats. To make things worse I was also in the same room at the 9 candidates, Carl Levin, Debbie Stabenaugh, Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick, Debbie Granholm and TERRI MCAULIFF!!!

Fox News Reporter Kelly Wright was the MC. He told us that we had to clap loudly when the show started, and then to control ourselves during the show.

There is an irony here. The debates were carried on Fox News, but you can't get Fox News on local Detroit Cable. You have to have a dish. Kelly asked how many folks want Fox News to be carried in Detroit and he was met with a round of Boos. It's obvious that Detroit doesn't want Fox in their homes.

Kelly then introduced all the VIPs in the audience. Jennifer Granholm, Debbie Stabenaugh, and Terry McAuliff got the loudest applause and standing ovations. It was puke making.

He told a couple of jokes and sang a little and then the show was on.

I noticed that I was sitting next to a John Kerry supporter, a couple of Edwards supporters, Dean, Braun and Sharpton.

The debate was on. I took vociferous notes, but I am not going to bore you with every question and answer, so if you would like a specific impression of a question, feel free to ask.

I will mention the highlights.

Carol Mosely-Braun is a liar. She stated that she left her office with dignity and that her reputation remains intact. If her reputation is that of a scoundrel and a thief, then yes, her reputation is intact.

The audience HATED Joe Lieberman. There was no clapping for him. Only booing and heckles. I don't know if it is because the audience was anti-semetic or that Lieberman supported the war. The audience was highly anti-war, and totally anti-Bush.

Shaption was a hit. When he blasted the Patriot Act and said that he would negotiate with Arafat, the audience was spell bound. Then when he stated that this election was a 'Battle between the Christian Right and the Right Christians" the crowd lept to their feet in a deafening applause. I haven't heard applause like that since I saw Styx and the Babies at the Cow Palace in 1979. ( in my notes it states..."I am surrounded by idiots and morons")

Kusinich is a total lightweight. He said that he wanted to start the Department of Peace to bring non-violence to America. He stated that last month Detroit had a slaughter of 300 people.

My friend and I looked at each other and said " did we miss something? When did we lose 300 people? Ok, Dennis, whatever you say.

My impressions of the candidates in person..... Kerry is scary. He is HUGE. He is even scarier in person. He has no presence.

Edwards... Pretty boy. The gals loved him. Even my friend said that he had a nice smile. I told her that it was the smile of a snake.

Sharpton is a buffoon, but he was definately a crowd pleaser. Most people said that they liked Sharpton.

Kusinich is a freak. He had a large following there, since he is from Ohio. He thinks that we need to give 12,000,000 students 'free' tuition. He said that we need to give 'free kindergarden' to 3-5 year olds, therefore saving parents $7000. Where is Dennis going to get all this ' free' money?

Braun is annoying, Lieberman tries but he just can't get any respect, but it was Dean and Clarke that are evil.

Dean is Frankestien. I swear that his head had to have been sewn on. It's not the right head for the body. He's evil and mean and I want to smack in him the face with an oar. He revels in his anti-war stance.

Clarke is crazy. He's that uncle who took a hit to the head in the war and you have to cut his meat for him. That guy has big problems.

I can conclude with what the democrats taught me tonight.

...Bush is wrong about everything.

...Cheney, Powell, Rice, Wolfowitz, and Rumsfeld are stupid people and don't know what in the world they are doing.

...We lost the Iraq War. We have no end strategy and it's another Vietnam.

...Speaking of Vietnam, did you know that Kerry was a veteran? I am glad he mentioned it 3 times or I wouldn't have known.

...The Bush tax cut is bad.

...We are all going to hell in a handbasket.

It's far worse to be in person with these people than to watch them on television. I am never going to do that again. I learned my lesson and taken my punishment.

The democraphics were interesting.

I would say that it was mostly black. The whites were union members. There was also a large contingent of Arabs for pandering.

From what I understand, tickets were given to City and State Employees, the UAW, AFL-CIO, and Teachers Union. So obviously it was stacked.

It was a great event for people watching. People were from everything from jeans and t-shirts to sequins and furs. The audience around me was pretty rowdy and mouthy. They were loud with their comments. I did promise my friend that I would be quiet and respectful, and taking notes did keep me from blowing my stack, but around 8:30 or so I couldn't take it anymore and did start pointing out the lies.

I am glad I didn't have a stroke or didn't simply explode. One good thing about this experience is that it demonstrated to me how fractured the dems are, but how solid they would be with Hillary.

They hate Bush. That's their party platform.

They love Clinton. Kerry's line of " If you liked Clinton you will love Kerry" was a big crowd pleaser.

When the politican hags, I mean women of Michigan arrived, Granholm, Stabenow and Kilpatrick, the audience went nuts. This is the same reaction I saw when I in filtrated the Hillary crowd. They want a woman and they want one so badly. Personally I don't understand it since Hillary is evil, but I am of the opinion that many people don't think before they vote.

Well, this was a very insightful report; not to mention LOL entertaining. Thank you!

Now that you have been able to stare the beast in the face, so to speak, which of these ambulatory disasters will the 'rats nominate, do you think? I utterly cannot imagine anyone voting for any of these gushing idiots.

But then again, I couldn't imagine anyone voting for Clinton, either.

Twice.

(P.S. - keep your oar. I think you're gonna want it a lot over the next year.)

I'm surprised none of the candidates said happy birthday to Hillary during the debates. Her mom never had a "right to choose". /sarcasm

Glad that you lived to type about it and save us all having to watch, or hear it.

Cheers.

Here you go - I think this will help.

I spent the evening watching "Interview with the Vampire." The vampires weren't nearly as scary as Kerry and Dean.

That is an EXCELLENT suggestion. Too many dems still have not realized how drastically their party has changed. If they did, they would probably become Republicans, or at least listen to them more carefully.

Great FReep report. I suffered through the whole thing to see if you ever got to ask a question. They never did take any from the audience, did they? (I got a phone call 15 minutes before the end, so I missed that part.) You're probably lucky, I suspect that audience would have torn you apart limb from limb.

Also, do you have any comments regarding Gephardt?

Um, you forgot Ashcroft (hee hee)

When Kucinich was talking about all the free education for ages 3-25, along with health care for them all, all I kept saying was communism, since public, gov't education is one of the "planks" of communism.

Dam red diaper commie babies. I finally had to change the channel before my head imploded from trying to "get" them.

You are a brave brave soul. And didn't yell out anything, huh? Good will power also.

Thank you for this incredible insider report.
I wasn't even allowed to watch this psychofest on tv.
I can't imagine sitting through it live.

As Noumenon said, the really scary part is not the collection of idiots, lunatics and thieves on the stage, but the collection of idiots, lunatics and thieves in the audience, foaming at the mouth and cheering them on.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a close (and fraudulent) election turn into a real war.

A wise man once said, it only takes one party to have a war, and this party is both rabid and insane enough to start one. Add Shrillary to this mix and there's no telling where it will end.

Thanks again.

They didn't take any questions. I was really disappointed. I printed out the entire question thread and I couldn't even use it.

My biggest laugh of the night is when the Black reporter started spitting venom at RUSH limbaugh saying how come the rich get off and the ppor go to jail.

I wonder if this hypocrite ever used Ted Kennedy in promoting that point over the past 30 years. If I were on stage I would have said, yea, why don't you ask Ted Kennedy how that works.
