And I just spoke with my sister in Rancho Sante Fe. She's incredibly calm. States the fire is still a considerable distance from their home and friends have offered a beach house should it get closer. Thanks to all on this thread who have offered updates and prayers. God bless you all.

11 fires still showing on this map
Active Fire Map How many started today? I can't remember. Several started very early in the a.m., several more this afternoon.

I'm not positive, but I think Rancho Santa Fe is southeast of El Cajon. Some areas have been evacuated.
Rancho Penesquitos is north of Rancho Bernardo (I think), and I have not heard anything about Rancho Bernardo (north of Miramar) or Penesquitos at all. But .. I've been listening to channel 10 exclusively and could have missed that information.

Yes Malibu had a fire -- not sure if it's been knocked down yet.

Yes, that's what you read.....and I believe it was from a reliable poster, but I cannot remember where it was posted....(how far back).

My yorkie and I thank you.

Rancho Sante Fe is WAY northwest of El Cajon.
Rancho Penasquitos is southwest of Rancho Bernardo.

Didn't mean to imply there was a fire in Black Mtn area, just close (I think Scripps is not very far away, true?). Friend in Blk Mtn says they are not now in any imminent danger, which is a good thing 'cuz as I recall there aren't too many routes outta that area!

I was watching abc 7 -- they knocked it down and declared it out while I was watching (about 1/2 hour ago)

FYI...Rancho San Diego is southeast of El Cajon. Rancho Santa Fe is east of Del Mar, next to Fairbanks Ranch.

Poway citizen (Sue) calling in to radio, complaining that the media is not covering their town on t.v.; she lives near Twin Peaks area, evacuated at 10:00 a.m., 100 people took refuge near Garden Road elementary (?) which later burned down (she's in tears as she says this).....in a 2-hour period, whole entire hill, which had 1.2 million dollar homes, engulfed in flames. All parking ways of Poway loaded with horses, trailers, campers, cars, RVs., red glowing embers everywhere in Poway.

Did they finally open that new freeway (forgot the #) from I-15 to the coast? Last time I traveled it, it pretty much ended at Blk Mtn.
