If this isn't the most current thread for finding news about the locations of fires, I couldn't find anything better; please make this easier to find? I'd sure appreciate it.

When they release minks from mink ranches, most of the minks are dead or food in the food chain in days. That doesn't stop them.

Yes, the FAA towers are near the path of the fire. I've lived in San Diego for over 30 years and I've never seen anything like this! It's unbelievable! I have never seen a fire travel so fast but the winds are very strong today.
One of our clients (I'm an insurance agent) have lost their home in Lakeside. We are still waiting to hear from another client in Ramona.
I live in La Mesa, south of Miramar and Scripps Ranch.
For the tin foil brigade these fires were spread by Santa Ana winds and I'm sure the cause and origin teams are working overtime to find out how and who caused these fires. I heard on the news that the Cedar fire was caused by a lost hunter who either built a signal fire or shot off a warning shot. The Camp Pendelton fire was caused by troops performing exercises. I haven't heard about the paradise fire (Valley Center) and the one near the border (Otay wilderness) I haven't heard either. Many of the fires in the back coutry are caused by illegal campfires by illegal aliens.

Why is the Al Rashid hotel blast more important to cable news channels than what is going on in our country??

This needs to be repeated 24/7/365:
Many of the fires in the back coutry are caused by illegal campfires by illegal aliens.
However, there is a lot of recent evidence of fires set in the San Diego area and ELF has claimed "Yes, those were our fires!".

No one has yet issued a news release to the news folk, letting them know that the burning of southern Cal is a news story.

Good question.

If they could find a way to blame the fires on GW or Rummy, this would be wall to wall 24/7 coverage.

Hwy 52 is closed from 163 to 805 - fire is on the north side of 52. That is just 8 miles northeast from me.
If the fires jump to the south of 52, my mom and I have decided to start gathering stuff together just in case we have to leave. It has been reported that Bombers have taken off from Ramona (which CFD) is stationed. I suspect they will begin hitting the southside of 52 with water because that area which is just south of Miramar Marine Corp Airstation is very very very heavily populated. Also, the area west of Miramar - past 805 fwy is also very heavily populated and contains a huge amount of businesses. Plus, of course, they will want to protect the airbase.

Update New Conference San Diego. State of Emergency for County....People to stay calm, off road and off telephone. Watch TV (ha ha) for information (may be better than LA). Fire Chief Bowman...CDF managing Cedar Fire, has progressed SW to two branch 5 & 6=six fronts two of which are in San Diego. All firefighters to report to their stations.
Changing direction by winds, as of 5 minutes ago...two branches southerly Scripps Ranch to west and south is major North Tiera Santa very concerned about. West along Miramar runway towards Claremont Mesa south 52.
Trying to keep north of 52 and east of 55.

The ELF group seems to target new developments rather than an attempt to torch thousands of acres.

It's an obvious news black out. We are scanning over 300 tv channels and only weak, intermittent coverage....
