Leave it to Jew Hater Extraordinaire, Tony Auth to determine that not STARVING a woman to death because she's inconvenient, is actually holding up The Lord's plans.
Too bad Terri Schiavo isn't Jewish, then he could change the scene setting to Hell.

Quick lets terminate all the elderly and those without jobs, what good are they. Time is just about here when the little people at the bottom of the hill are going to look up and say to the people on the top.....here I come.

Perhaps I should have addressed this comment specifically to those who do not share your view. Sorry 'bout that.

You are ignorant of several things (as you've already shown here today) including the fact that she isn't on "life support"
You're getting extremely agitated, which is fine, but you're attributing things to me I have not said, which isn't.
First off, I'm not "agitated". Second off, I have not attributed to you anything other than what you've said and those things you have implied with your meanings.
And I QUOTE YOU
We could hook you up to machines and keep your body turning food into waste for a long time, is that the same as living? If you don't hook a person up to machines to keep them turning food into waste, is that murder?
I'll answer your questions. Yes it is the same as living. However, you missed the point, bright boy. She is not hooked up to machines keeping her alive.
It is contributing to the death of that person if you do not hook them up. Again, you missed the point. She is NOT hooked up to machines. She is simply being FED. There's a difference, a very BIG difference, and if you can not see it then you're not as bright as you thought you were.
God forbid that something ever happens to you, and the people around you think like yourself. I sure hope if that does happen though, you are completely aware of what is going on but unable to say or do anything about it. Let's see what you think when they unhook "the machines" (or feeding tube).

"This is you best? To not discuss, but instead attribute statements to me falsely?"
And what of post #36? But that falls on deaf ears. Attention getters are more your speed I guess.

>>Folks are more interested in keeping her trapped in that atrophied body with that crippled mind
Well, that's her choice. Her idiot husband is trying to choose for her.
To: Gunslingr3
The problem is, you're saying something to the effect of "Why should she be FORCED to live like that?" and it is coming off as "Why should she be ALLOWED to live like that?". Eh, Dr Mingele?

It is entirely logical and consistent to describe your stated position as being in favor of killing anyone and everyone whose life is difficult and presumably worse than the afterlife. The poor, maimed, retarded, blind, crazy.
Of course, it's all up to you, right? YOU pick and choose which lives YOU deem worthy of continuing on this planet. Perhaps you would be smarter and more compassionate in heaven, so...

Good idea James. It will eliminate the need for things like social security, welfare and it'll even take some cars off the road that shouldn't be there (old people who can't drive). If we also get rid of mentally handicapped people, we won't have to worry about them (and Colorado won't have to try to pass a law to tax us more to take care of them - a local thing they are trying to pass - taxing my home so they can give money to people with mentally handicapped kids).
If we simply find the genes responsible for crimial activity we can eliminate people who will probably become criminals before they can be born, and what the hell, while we're at it, let's kill their parents too for good measure.
then there's the issue of color... which color can be eliminated? Which one is "least useful"? Hmmm perhaps we ought to think on that awhile.
Then of course, we can't have all those sick people in hospitals can we? Let's simply get rid of them as well. I guess you came up with the answer, James. Thanks for helping me see "the truth". :)

What I would prefer has nothing to do with the argument. I once knew a woman who swore that she wouldn't mind being murdered because as a Christian she knew it would lead to a better plane of existence. In the Middle Ages people countenance the most grotesque and brutal torture of criminals because it was sincerely believed that the tortures of hell which they would be facing for eternity would make a few temporal tortures seem mild by comparison.
My conception of this case has nothing to do with feelings. It pertains to the human rights we currently enjoy and the best way of retaining those rights inviolate at the hands of those who might wish, for whatever reason, to arbitrarily deprive us of them.

Is that existence preferable to Heaven? And yours is?
To: Xenalyte
If God wants us, He will take us.Well thanks a lot X; now in a fit of Woody Allen-like spiritual hypochondriacism, I am convinced that He doesnt want me, since Im just here
.
To: Gunslingr3
Why? Is that existence preferable to Heaven? When God wants her, nothing man can do will stop it. Until then, we need to follow his commands and respect life for what it is, a blessing.

Hey there, Manic,
We can't kill all the retards. Many are voting, tax paying members of the California Democratic party; you know, the Caliban.
Others are Democratic Party members in some other state. Most of the rest are assorted Liberals, enviro-whackos, ad nauseam. If all of them are gone, the tax burden on the rest of us will rise.

Perhaps you would be smarter and more compassionate in heaven, so...With regard to myself, I most certainly choose. I just wonder what makes others think it's suitable to cut a hole in this woman's stomach and put food in her to keep her going. Obviously we can, but that doesn't necessarily mean we should. We could use ever more extraordinary means to keep a body turning food into waste, but I don't think that's the purpose of life, or living. I see Terri's parents in denial, and eager to maintain her body as a living monument to the 'her' that is no more.

This must be an extremely hard thing for all involved to deal with. But come on, you can't starve her to death. No one would do that to a dog. You're right, there are much more merciful methods for putting down sick dogs, but we haven't even opened that can of worms in this thread.
