[history]
Dolphins linebacker Junior Seau insists he meant no harm when he suggested the way to stop former teammate LaDainian Tomlinson is to feed him fried chicken and watermelon.
Tomlinson, whose Chargers face the Dolphins on Monday night, could not immediately be reached for comment. The Dolphins had no immediate word on whether Seau would be disciplined for the remark.

Seau is a good guy, and I actually believe him when he says that he was just joking. That being said, had it been Zach Thomas who said this, the press would be calling for a multiple-game suspension.

If a serious comment can be made, this underscores racial absurdity. Saying that someone's race makes them stupid or dishonest, etc. is racially offensive. Jokes about food that a racial or etnic group may traditionally eat is not. In other words, mere reference to ANYTHING having to do with black culture is not improper. It is really kooky to act like a reference to fried chicken is derogatory. Yes many blacks eat a lot of fried chicken. And the insult in that is located where?

In other words, mere reference to ANYTHING having to do with black culture is not improper. You are wrong. When a white male mentions or refers to ANYTHING having to do with black culture it is viewed by the PC crowd as being improper and racist. It has gotten out of hand.
Remeber the furor of the use of the word 'niggardly'?

I used to watch quite a bit of football with my kids and always joked that the best way to get the other team off it's guard was to treat them to fried chicken before the game, thus making their fingers too slippery to hold the ball. On the other side of things, whenever "our" receivers couldn't hold the ball, I'd suggest giving them each a box of Gobstoppers.

I love fried chicken and watermelon. Can't get enough of the stuff. And I'm about as white as you can get. I think. Well, I mean my mom was white and my dad was white so I suppose that makes me white. Right? Anyway, I love, love! fried chicken and sadly watermelon is only good in July and August. Oh, I know you can get it all year in some places, but it really is only good in July and August. That opinion is from an expert I might add, me.

We'll habe to know what Seau's political orientation is, before we can react. If he's a conservative, we'll all be outraged and ask for his resignation. If he's a liberal, we'll all realize he was making a joke, clap him on the back, and have him campaign for Hillary.

No offence and who cares but F-em if they can't take a joke
To: diamondjoe
Certainly he was joking...so was Fuzzy. The point of the post is to question the prejudice of the press. No they are not going to jump on this, just like they didn't follow up on Senator Byrd and the klan....It will just serve as another reminder of the press and the slant they say they don't have...

When a white male mentions or refers to ANYTHING having to do with black culture it is viewed by the PC crowd as being improper and racist. PC Crowd = White Liberals, of course.
What is ironic, is that comments such as this and as Rush's, are usually understood, by most Blacks, as being a joke or as not being offensive and understand the context of the statement.
It is not what is said that is important, as who says it. Also, then who chooses to make an issue of it, using feigned 'offensiveness' as the weapon to strike down some one they don't like.
